Turn Based Multi-player Issues
« on: May 31, 2015, 04:25:31 PM »
I have played this game virtually every day from launch and would say 80% of my rounds played are Turn Based Multi-player.
This method of play has worked really very well up until about 6 weeks ago when I/we started to get the switch between players shots stopping or sticking(data no being transferred from one player to another?)

We have tried, disabling and re-enabling Turn Order, removing and then re-adding rival/player, jumping out of the game and then continuing from the Start Menu and re-starting the game completely, all have some success but its only short lived as it might be ok for a few more shots or a few holes, occasionally we will be able to complete the round. Last evening was the worst ever, stuck on every single shot. Network icon is now predominantly white(2 bars) whereas before problems it was grey(3 bars).

I also get the 'lost connection' and 'scorecard cannot be retrieved' issues, also recently the game will occasionally freeze up completely when it checks for saved game data before launching a round.

I have fibre broadband with 37mb download and 8mb upload speeds and no firewall in router.

PS4

One other thing I have just played one of my friends ghost balls with Turn Order enabled and there were no problems, I'm in the UK and most friends I play with are East/West coast America.

Was there a PS4 system update around the time the issues started?

This is a perfect example of whats happening, the game froze up completely at the black screen at the end of the video.

Hi HB-KeithC you asked me a question earlier in this thread, to which I answered so I was expecting some follow up on this problem.

Anyhow two nights ago I deleted the game and then downloaded and installed it hoping this might correct any corrupted files I might have, but alas no improvement at all.

I am having great difficulty even completing a TGCTOURS round this week, every time the network icon turned white I quit the game( I know if I carry on playing with the constant white network icon that no game data will be saved) and restarted, it took 5 quits and resume game before I got through to 18, even then it froze on leaderboard page again but after another restart it gave me the square button to continue to R3.

It seems the problems are all about data not being sent/received/stored correctly.

Hi Starliner,
I passed the info along to the devs to investigate.  At the moment, I don't have any additional info.

I was having similar issues plus a few others that made the game unplayable. They were related to my friends list. Possibly a corrupted avator but never confirmed by HB. They (Ali) were extremely helpful in eventually resolving my issue. Had to delete all friends. That alone did not fix but after doing a re initialize of the ps4 , everything works normally again. Have not added a single friend back....afraid to, lol. Reinstalling game did nothing for me neither did deleting save files.   Re initializing sounds involved but it's not a big deal at all.

Thought I'd come on to say that since the update this has been working very well. Only one hitch where a simple disable and re enable fixed it. One thing that still doesn't seem to be working right is when a new person joins in. Their scores do not update on the HUD or score card as they are playing to catch up.

Is this only while you and someone else are playing turn based?

Yes, Starliner and I were playing TB (that's all we ever play on a daily basis) when a friend jumped into the game. We couldn't see his score as he progressed, you have to remove and add them back to get score updates. This has been like this for months now, It used to work when the game first came out. I was hoping it would of been fixed with this update.

I am waiting 1minute to 2 minutes to see my friends shots in turn order. This seems like this problem has been around for a while but no fix. My ps4 is wired to the modem, I get 105 d and 6.6 u so my speeds are terrific. My friends see each other's shot within seconds but for me it it eternity.

Funniest thing here is that this thread is 2 years old. Some things will never change.
