Putting roulette

Simple question to the DEV's:


When will be the day when putting will be controlled by the player?


Not by any rubber band, nor random generator, nor yellow marker or other fantasy thing?


It's a pitty for this excellent game, but the putting mechanics realy kills 9/10 rounds by just randomly generated results. Like puts dashing off the backside of the green like rockets or dieing at the putterhead at random.
Maybe this problem is connected to the long known bug and problems of the AMD RADEON grafics as it seems to be different using NVIDIA grafic cards.


Why not use the input straight forward, as it comes? longer backswing -> more power, faster thruswing -> more power?????????
simply direct and straight forward!

Maybe when HBS unties the swing mechanic from the frame rate (granularity) they can remove the "spyglass".  ;)

I've never been a fan of it from closed beta to present.  :(

I agree, until it is not tied into the frame rate, nothing will/should be changed, the original plans obviously included getting better frame rates than they achieved. This game would be so amazing if everyone got great frame rates. Swinging a club like Charles Barkley is ridiculous, I detest the pause at the top of the swing and it is all because of the swing being tied into frame rates.

And yet another disapointing update :(
  • no swing controll with mouse.
  • ball physics without any spin.
  • cupedge: ball still bouncing over the front and of the sides to the outside.
  • slope of the ballslie still not effecting the shot.
These are basics !!!!!!


but hopefully the consoleros can use their left stick again....  :(

I fully understand your feelings. Whenever i'd reached that point, i escaped into GNCD...


It's a pitty, it's so close, but that little tad missing is close to tillting it. Mouse/Keyboard is just not another type of controller, it's older, but much more advanced technology.


Btw: Looks like to me as if we're back to where it was just after going life. Better then after last update, but still no direct controll, nor proportional powergeneration. Delayed rubberband pulling (deadzone) might work for slow- or overreacting console-sticks but using a mouse it kills any feel for power out of putting (and all other shots). IRL when i move my shoulders (or hands) the putterhead moves immediately and direct, there is no delay whatsoever. And certainly it's not still moving backwards, when i allready move forward.
