By far the biggest, baddest course of the group is Whistling Straits. It is a long, bunker filled walk in the park and when you add a stiff wind it just whips your rear. Oh, also the greens are quick to add to the enjoyment or amusement, depending on your view. With that though, my vote went to Merion because I think a short course that plays exceptionally big with a different, more complete set of challenges speaks volume. Its not long but it is tight and iron approaches need to be precise to even think about scoring well. The short game at Merion is a tougher test than the drive at Whistling. Like most tough courses, there is only a handful of Merion holes that can be played to a birdie often. Its a course where pars are as good as birdies and it is a course where driver isn't necessarily needed off the tee. It plays much differently than Whistling Straits and encompasses a far greater challenge to score lower than par. Its the Pine Valley (which I love) of this poll and its perfect for what I hope our club stands for.

I'm gonna play those courses I have  not played yet, then I'll vote. Is there a poll somewhere that Tapatalk on my phone is missing?

Ok, my vote, as I expected it would be, is for Whistling Straights.  I love links style courses.  That being said, I wouldn't be mad at all if we chose Merion East. That's a tough, fair, and pretty course.

Aaaaannnd, I just read your post TeeJay. I'll go vote now :-/
