very nice guitar dude. Love the natural feel of this course. Nice use of the mulch, I like the combo of the waste bunkers and planting in the mulch to border some areas.  Will be interesting to see how mayhems links style swiss course matches up.

My comments are pretty much the same as round 1. It's not a bad looking course. It's not fancy but it's very realistic looking and I guess you can't ask for more than that. I do find the greens to be very tricky. Took me 3 rounds to finally make par. Of course the really tough winds I ran into each time (WTF?) didn't help.

It's the kind of course, if it were in my local area, where I'd check the weather report before I decided to play a round of if the winds were kicking up, I'd probably stay home.

Live.

My comments from the first 3 are pretty much the same here. Shot par. Nice course. Just doesn't stand out in my mind other than all the bunkers. That 6th hole was a dilly. Was pure luck that I got within 14 feet of the pin with that elevation and those winds.

My gut tells me this is going to be a tight vote.

Good luck in the round.

Another very close contest but in a Roundabout sort of way I decided to give the edge to Guitatdude...

Jeez this was a hard vote!  I love both these courses for different reasons.  Love the general look and realism of guitardude's course.  I really liked the use of the new theme by projectm4yhem with the dramatic elevation changes and views...and also the transition from an open course to treed as the holes progressed.  I'd like to see both of them finished, but in the end rather than flip a coin I gave the nod to projectm4yhem because of a couple heavily sloped greens on your course guitardude.  That's fine, but I really don't like the hole placed on moderate slopes...I think in the rules of golf it's supposed to be flat around the cup (?).  Anyway, it's a nitpicky detail but I had to break the tie some way.  Awesome work both of you!

There are no rules for the hole placement on the greens. There are only guidelines made by RSA, European and US PGA. What they have in common is that a) holes should be places 3 steps inside the green and b) in flat OR constantly sloped places. b) typically is interpreted as that the green slope should not change within 1 m/yard of the pin. Following these guidelines there is one recomendations: A ball put down on the green within that radius should not start to roll off on its own. Ingame that would translate into some statement like: "no red or yellow slopes within 1 m of the pin"; and that's what i fully support. But still, it's not a rule, only a guideline.

I made sure that the holes weren't placed on slopes with yellow grid lines. I made sure that there was approximately 5ft of green grids around the hole.  I feel that there is a fair balance of green slope and green speed that makes the pins tough, but fair, and within USGA guidelines.

Although this match-up was very close in my mind (Roundabout has some fantastic-looking features), Col de la Madeleine is probably my favorite course for this 2nd round.

Something about the set-ups and distances, the type of shots required (the severely sloped fairways made tee shots a lot of fun), and I really like the Swiss theme a lot.

Im hoping you finish designing the rest of your course, m4yhem.
