I played a course a few weeks back and the designer made a great looking tilled up field and was wondering what tips anyone might have. I'm making a RCR and in need of a field to go around the course. Thanks.

Well, I just had a try after reading your post. What I did was, flatten the area with the very thin square brush, this will drop the ground down slightly.

Then, using one of the long straight brushes, I dropped the ground down about 1.8 inches, moved the brush over leaving a space the same      width, then repeated the drop. This creates a furrowed field. It could of course, be just a grassed one.
Do this right across the field and you will have one which looks ploughed.
Then I altered the colour with a colour brush. It now looks like a brown ploughed field.
Then you can plant some foliage in the furrows.
All this I did very quickly, if you take your time you could get a realistic field however you want it to look. Just use the various shade brushes.

 Anyway, you get the idea.
