Hi All,

Street date was broken here in Australia yesterday. I picked it up this morning. After a couple of rounds, just some initial thoughts.
Quite a bit of pop in. Trees at a distance are green geometric shapes. Frame rate varies on whats around you. Some textures seem pretty low rez. Yep I am aware of the limitations of the xbone lol. I had TGC1 on pc which looked much better on a GTX 960 with i5 cpu, but of course it would.

I love playing on console as PC on the big screen TV can be a drag sometimes. I will probably end up purchasing this on PC and playing it there.
I really love the improvements that have been put into this version and appreciate all the hard work the devs do.

cheers

Phil

Alright, you're the door-buster on the XBox One version.  Lot's of pop-in eh? That's a bit reminiscent of the XBox One version of TGC, as are the geometric trees.  How does it look within 150 yards of the golfer, and puhleeze tell me that you cut the Depth of Field setting to "OFF".  Play the Goldfinch Club and tell us how you think the frame rates are there?  It's a great course, but it puts some demands on the hardware to make it playable.  It will be a great test of the XBox One's potential, IMO.

Hey John,

It's nice having some graphical options thats for sure. Will play the goldfinch now and let you know. I think we will be waiting for the one x for said potential.

Well I played the goldfinch, well the front nine anyway. Seemed to handle it ok, No worse than any other course so far. Menu's can be slow and jerky in the game which is annoying. I have  DOF turned off but the rest of the graphics options on. Any other questions fire away.

Do you have the one or the S ?

It has to look better than tgc1 . I would hope anyways. They said it would be 1080p 30 fps.

Can you confirm that there is no vsync option?  If there is, turn it OFF and see if that makes any difference.

Good news that the Goldfinch Club was playable.  Do you think it looks better than TGC 1 on the XBox One, at least in still shots?

Currently playing on xbox one, getting an s later next week. Not sure there will be a big jump in performance though.

Cant find a v-sync option, i think its turned off anyway as there is some screen tearing occasionally.

Good, that means it's probably off, which in my opinion is better to not have judder (as is what happens when games can't meet the 30 FPS requirement of  vsync enabled) than occasional screen tearing.... at least IMHO.  ;)
