I have had that happen every once in a while before update.  Just unplug your controller, plug back in again and do a full shutdown. Turn pc back on and it should solve the issue.  Hope that is helpful.  Works for me when it happens and is not specific to golf game, I have had this happen in racing games as well.

Also the very obvious is to be sure your set on controller  and it is turned on

I did that and the controller is now working wish they would fix the mouse swing for the game so it would work like it did in TGC 1 and fix the flop shot.Swing is now better now than it was before.

Okay, I see it now... I was thinking there was perhaps a Field of View setting that I'd missed somewhere down the line.  I know some of my racing games have a Field of View adjustment that I set to tailor to my desires.  I'm curious to see how that might work in a golf game.

Thought I had it solved but today I had the same problem,I re installed TGC 2 and un plugged and plugged in the controller and did a complete shutdown and re started the computer was able to play one round and the clubs quit working again.I have tried to use the mouse and key board but only get very slow back swing and down swing.
