Agree on the MP comments.  I'm not much of a MP kind of gamer but the limitations on MP in this game are killing it.

I'm not trying to be critical but I feel like many times HBS spends too much time trying to justify their position instead of listening to the community.  They say they listen but what they really do is tell the community what the community wants instead of LISTENING.

At least have match play in a golf game. I would have loved to have been in that meeting.

I'm sure the devs wanted TGC2 to have everything TGC1 had in it, plus a lot more, but wishing doesn't make it happen, they obviously don't have the horses to do it. I like playing TGC2 and I play with Player clubs which seem to be close to TGC1 clubs. I always thought TGC1 was a bare bones game, but TGC2 is embarrassingly inept.

I will not go into what I think ... But HBS really took the wind out of my sails ...

To say they missed an opportunity to make TGC2 outstanding, is an understatement.
Even for a "Indie" company, HBS took a step-down in this golf game release.

It is even worse, whomever had the final say in what was "Important" for requirements ... as to what the public wanted, verses what HBS wanted ... really missed the mark --- and now it has came back to bite them on the posterior.

Only a handful of the loyal fan base, agree on the direction HBS taken ... and most of the others just moved on ... I rarely even fire up the game, other than to keep my society running for those that "Do" still enjoy playing.

Other than that, I rarely can play 9 holes in a single sitting ... and if I play 18, even on one of my designs ... it would be a miracle.

As for playing it on P$4 ... I consider it wasted money, I played it the first opening night (Pre-order), never played it again ... No Desire.

Great Job HBS ...

Now, I have my life back ... If I spend 1 hour per week ... it would be amazing ... including forum time.

Yep,  I think it speaks volumes in the fact that the decisions they've made have run off even their loyalist of followers such as you Ddawg and myself..  Their biggest cheerleader (ME) cannot even defend them anymore...  It's sad really..    Of course the problem for exist completely around the multiplayer debacle and their total lack of regard of actually discussing it with the beta testers...   They totally give off the impression that they are not listening when it comes to gameplay modes and live modes of play...

Kinda makes you wonder if it's not a skillset issue.  Has HBS just reached their maximum potential?

I think they do listen.  The problem is (and even your beloved AK himself was probably the MOST guilty of this) that they think they know what the community wants regardless of what the community says they want.

I have tried to be patient.  I had even asked HB for an olive branch to keep communication open and advise what is in the pipeline.  Great idea they said....crickets.
There are aspects of this game that advanced but far too many things missing or not working is inexcusable.  The community AND developer made each other made TGC1 the best out there over time.  We wanted you to succeed and expand and with communication and hard work this golf game was the best.
TGC2 on the other had was a screw job to your most passionate audience.  Regardless of how you justify your "vision" and decision making process, the community aspect which had avenues to bring folks from ALLOVER the world together got completely screwed and we seen this coming at BETA stage.  I really feel bad for the admins at TGCT using their own time and effort trying to juggle all the crap we were dealt just to make TGCT even viable.
I'm like DDAWG and several others as I played the hell out of this game every single day.  I designed every single day.  I couldn't wait to hop on and smack the ball around or work in the designer.  Now...I could give a ****.  Societies are dying left and right....even some that I thought had a real strong following.  Adding more spots doesn't fix a damn thing because the purpose they serve is both limited and flawed as platform specific.  New designers and courses find exposure hard to come by....so why put months of work into a course anymore?  Patches rarely address anything of importance.  You can go on and on and on.  Just truly unfortunate.

I know nobody at HB will admit mistakes or errors in judgment but rather justify it with vague corporate speak.  I still hold a sliver of hope that maybe something will be learned from all this.  Just how many people around TGCT, forums, or this game in general will be left to care remains unknown.

I am still playing but I am really not posting much as there is nothing to post about.

Having said that....the forums are really nice to visit as there hasn't been any drama in months.

Have a nice day and see you whenever.

Some of the lack of drama I think is coming from the fact that many of us have given up on HB,  and in some ways I really feel like there is a severe lack of compassion and respect from HB when it comes to many of us whom have good suggestions that would help the game.    It's very hard to get behind them when you feel like they constantly ignore the masses and refuse to answer questions on the aspects that so many of us hold dear...    The silence has been deafening and I sincerely hope they're taking note because I believe that my style of play or wants and needs echos what the average gamer cares about.

It's not that I'm trying to prove a point or take my ball and go home,  I just truly feel that much of the community has been given too many diversion tactics by HB and at this point it's like spoiled milk.

The game is lacking some things for sure. Some of the things lacking like MP , tours and a overswing really should be in the game. That being said I still love the game with tour clubs with no aids.  If it wasn't for HB all we would have on consoles is TW on the 360 and Rory on PS4 and XB1. So I'm thankful for that.  It's too bad though they had a perfect timing to take that market share if they at least had a true MP.

Agree. I'm mostly a solo player and I'm happy enough with the gameplay without assists and using tour clubs.

But I DO definitely understand and agree with all those that are upset wth the lack of true multiplayer. This sort of thing is a given these days so when it missing it's a bit of a head scratcher. And when HBS responds in the way they have (trying to pull some Jedi mind trick telling us that  MP exists but we just aren't smart enough to understand it's glory) it's downnright offensive.

I have to agree with the opinions expressed here so far.  The graphics look terrible mostly because antialiasing does not apply in TGC2.  I know many will say it does but it absolutely does not on my GTX 1070.  I have brought this to HBS's attention with all the documentation proving it is not working but all I have gotten from them was a one time response of "We will look into it."  To that I say, take your time HB.  It's no problem that the game looks like complete crap.  I like looking at horrible jagged lines everywhere that make the scene look all sparkly when ever there is ANY movement!

This game is very boring already!  VERY LITTLE TO DO IN IT!  Multiplayer is pathetic, basically non existent really!  I play 99% of the time by myself because multiplayer is so lacking!  To that I say, no problem HB!  You lied in the pre-release live streams you did on Twitch when you were asked what game modes TGC2 had in it and you answered with "All the same modes you have now in TGC.  Stroke, match, fourball, stableford.  All the same modes you have now."  I was pleased to see that was all lies when I got my game and found out it barely has a working stoke game mode only!  I was even more pleased to see multiplayer was so lacking!  But what really made me the happiest was when you really stripped the already lacking multiplayer and took away the ability to send a friend an invite to join you in a game!  So take as long as you want HBS to add multiplayer like you said the game already had but really doesn't.

I can't wait to see what gets removed from the game with the next update!

AA works just fine on my 1080 GTX Ti......

It does work....but barely, not just fine. It looks crappy. Look at the water flickering away and objects in the distance such as grandstands.

We need full AA options, not just an on and off toggle. It's like the lowest possible AA setting is being applied.

In 4K resolution, it is not even needed.....IMO.

Oh, and AA has nothing to do with water flickering......

Well that's just swell if you are playing at 4k resolution, but at 1080 it is very much needed.

Even at 2560x1440 I do not see a need.
