Any future plans to bring back an updated
version of the Links theme HB.
A larger selection of grasses and bushes ,
is really all that is required , I'm pretty sure
the dozen or so fans of the steppe theme
wouldn't mind moving back to the desert. :P
It would make the thousands of links fans very
happy knowing maybe someday it would return.

The Links theme from TGC1 would need a hell of alot of work, only good thing it really had was the 30-31 mph winds which represents links courses a bit more than Highlands. Also let's hope a new links theme includes the dreaded words Pot Bunkers.

Saying that it seems HB going down the PGA TPC route so i would assume most resources going towards those sort of courses.

We have to accept that we may never see a pot bunker in our lifetime

HB will announce their very first pot bunker at about the same time humans have colonised Mars ...

I know HB alan has said this is not true, but i feel HB are moving away from the designer and more towards making there own golf game.

I would have loved to see a more based community game were community make tours, players and courses to share but in the long run that model really no good for HB,Still been an amazing experience over the last few years, just think game would have gone in a different path with AK in charge.

The Course Designer is the heartbeat of this game  .... I feel HB should plough more time and resources into this gem

The reason I still play is because the designers are still producing great courses

Anyone who thinks HB will abandon the designer is delusional they might offer PGA courses with some more bells and whistles than the designer can give you, but they will always offer the course designer....

Me too. I would hate to see HB go the route of EA and just offer up a slim choice of courses. The vast library of courses is what sets this apart form any other golf game. I like the graphics and game play too but neutering the course designer would kill the game for me.

I know HB alan has said this is not true, but i feel HB are moving away from the designer and more towards making there own golf game.

What gives you this impression?  That HB are bringing in official versions of some TPC courses?

There have been a number of confirmed improvements to the designer:
- fixed splines to avoid the kinks
- close and auto-fill splines
- auto-outline fairway splines with light rough
- introduction of SpeedTree which allows rotation of trees
- menu and interface improvements

HB are not abandoning the Course Designer.
TGC2 Courses:
Transylvania Municipal Golf Park
Glacier Meadow Par 3 Nine
Acacia National
Bearded Pelican Golf Links

TGC1 Courses:
The Golf Club at Hylan Park
Crescentic Bay Golf Course
La Playa Vacia Golf Retreat
El Toro Golf Club

HB will announce their very first pot bunker at about the same time humans have colonised Mars ...

I’ve actually come up with a technique that does som pretty decent ones.
First:  Create a raised mound using the fuzziest blue brushes.
Second : Pick a similar blue shape from the first page of the menu and shrink it all the way down.
Third: Stretch that shape using the advanced edit tool to about 1/2 the size of the mound and click.  This will give you the shape.  Then add your bunker inside that and cover the rest of the mound with heavy rough or plant with random grasses.
It takes a little practice and patience..... but these come out about the bes I’ve seen so far.  You can also “line”them with fencing on the forward side and plant with grass also.

GOOD LUCK, Have fun with it.... after all, that’s what it’s all about.
