Me thinks that our beloved hbs is reaping the benefit of perfect gaffe's SIM specialist migrating over from the spiraling arms of pg after the realization the end is near.   I see a few PG frat boys spending more time over here with some new found expectations. Here is hoping that hb delivers so we can all frolic together in the majestic fields of tgc19

Divot you're not saint bro, you layed comfortably in the bed of  pg for quite some time as you left hb like a old haggard flame.  Don't act like you haven't had your lovers spat with tgc!

I think wanting realistic golf is on everyone's list, but this is a game and that will never happen, but I have high hopes for improvement in TGC2019.  It would be really nice to see the competition reach a new level where the best golfers out there place a score that  is more realistic. That is where the real challenge is.

Before another thread gets locked because it becomes a slugfest over harder versus not .... Inflames is 100% right and until some of you realize that this is a video game and will always NOT mimic real life golf...I will let it hang there

To get back on topic...until a game company ships their games out with a game dedicated controller, some of you need to stop complaining about what others use.

It is a game, try having fun, that's what games are for.

Funny thing, I posted this message asking an honest question, only to be called or labelled as a cheater. Here's the definition of cheater, "a person who acts dishonestly in order to gain an advantage". That's not me, and I've never cheated at ANY game in my life!

To ban without questioning, or warning is lame.    To talk behind the scenes or etc is great for you, I don't have any friends that play the game to tell me that I appear to be doing something wrong. I've loved this game since the beginning, but due to no true multiplayer lobby (no TGC friends), societies have to fill the competition side of this game, not that I truly compete with you guys/gals or your ban button.

Inflames, a warning would've been nice..... I don't play turn order, so I don't see others swing lines, I play ghost and watch the scores. I don't really care what others are doing or not doing.  I see ridiculous scores and know I don't stand a chance most of the time.

John, well obviously you don't know what you're talking about, the xbox controller is a store bought standard controller without alterations. No magic wand or etc....

Theclv24, thank you. That's the correct method, and no offense.

Grabbed one of my other no magic, no alteration controllers. Does it feel different, yes. Does hit hit different, yes. Does it matter, no. For those that play with a controller, how do you use the controller to swing? I hold the controller in my left hand, use the left stick with my right hand. Pull back with my index finger and push forward with my thumb.  Am I doing this differently than everyone else?

Now that I'm on a watch list for creating this post and being labelled, being talk about within societies (however you do that), guess I'm screwed for asking the damn question to begin with.  So much for thinking this was an adult game...

Not going to happen. I just cant see why you thing they are going to "improve" as you put it. with more realistic scores...the player base has been calling for changes that would make this happen since before TGC2...they even in beta  of TGC2 were giving advice/examples of what would help.

HB has done nothing to even tip the play in this direction. They now have stuck stuck in a bucket of mulligans for the arcade players...the ridiculously awful dial-a-box is still in the game!

Nothing and I mean nothing has or is being done to make you think this is going to happen.

Time to move on

I said I had high hopes and that it is a game and will never happen . Regardless this thread is about a player being banned and has gone way off subject. Your right time to move on.

LOL, I chose to play a different game for a while because TGC was NOT giving me the experience that I was looking for. But I was here participating in the hope that TGC would improve and it did.

Has nothing to do with being a "saint" or "being in bed with another game", it has to do with choice of how I spend my limited time to play video Golf. For a while, PG was a better choice for the kind of Golf game I wanted to play. I have not touched that other game since Beta of TGC2. In fact, it is not even installed.

Not sure what point you are trying to make and pretty sure you don't either. And the added drama is unnecessary at best.

You said you were here discussing the game while you were exclusively playing pg.  Let's call a spade a spade here divot, that wasn't exactly productive to always be on the hb forum talking about how much better it was.  When I gave tgc a rest it was after I bought tgc2 afrer beta testing and decided the multiplayer was unacceptable!  I made it known I was done until the game enters the new millinium.  Let's don't compare apples to oranges here, we both quit playing, the only difference was I made it known why I was defecting to make my point. I felt no need to sit on the forms and discuss the lack of true multiplayer to nasuem because I already did this and it yeilded no results.

Sorry inflames.  In terms of the poster saying they aren't a cheater, I for one never said they were indeed a cheater but I did say the results are showing cheating and that is a fact. Even if they aren't cheating the data shows they are.  The "magic" controller metaphor is describing a controller that is giving an unfair advantage in which it clearly is. Here is what can settle this, I will fly out and meet the poster with brand new stock controllers and record the round, if they still hit it straight like in the video through their round I will pay them $1000 no questions asked, but if they don't they reimburse my trip cost and pay me $1000. Deal?

I believe I thanked you for your honest  post about  the ban and being honest in saying no controller could give the results shown in my video. So Deal done.  My post about you and Divot is because you both have put on boxing gloves with each other and rather than discussing what this thread was about both seemed to go off on each other. No worries I am not offended  just saying let's stick to the subject at hand in this thread.  Cheers to both.. I guess I am the referee in the boxing ring, so boys go to your corner ;D

Yep, divot and I have gone toe to toe for years but somehow I actually think we like each other ...  Sorry about taking over thread, and I agree with how you run your society,  unfair advantages should not be tollerated.. if people like straight shooting join another society.

I don't see anything lame or childish in anything that Inflames has done.  These entities that we call Societys are NOT DEMOCRACIES.  It is as simple as that.  They are set up and run by people who expect a certain level of behavior and commitment from it's members.  Inflames has made her values very publicly known on the 2 forums available to her as well as in the game itself.  The OP's controller simply does not conform to her (and many other's) definition of fair to her members.  Since he has defined his Society as being "not super competitive", Craig sees it as being perfectly fair to his members (as long as you don't start winning any of the events, apparently).  TeeToGreens.com also operates a society that welcomes people who use "gifted" devices of all kinds.  ALL of the official HB Societys condone the use of any controller and or modification that is available on any of the three platforms.  So there are plenty of places where the OP is welcomed to play.  Coming on this forum and attempting to paint those Societes that have banned him as being "childish", "lame" or "retarded" (some pretty derisive name calling for a guy who seems so sensitive to being called names like "cheater") was just an attempt to deride those Societys.  So, if the OP thinks he is screwed for asking the question, he has only himself to blame due to the way he has gone about it.  I will continue to support any Society that at least attempts to ensure a level playing field.  As far as the others go, I will simply not play there but I won't resort to calling them names in a public forum.

Thanks Charlie.. I have set my society to Competitive so we expect a level of fair play from all players.  Clv as he said  his society is more about showcasing design rather than who wins or how its won, but was going to present the issue to his members and let them make the decision, which as you know I did that over in the TGC forums about this gentleman to be sure I did the right thing. I put my fears out to my society members, so that I would not ban someone unjustly. I try my hardest to be fair, some times there is a fine line and is why I will always look for advice, other times it is totally blatant. I am curious tho with all the activity in this particular thread WHY the OP has not come to defend himself. Food for thought.

To Cmatt, Not bashing any societies! Never said a bad thing about the societies or Inflames.  Conforms to her standards (2 forums?)? I wasn't aware that I was doing anything wrong (part of the point) until I got banned and started the post.  NO modifications or super controller was used.  As of this morning I have changed controllers.  I too want a level playing field and a good society, so you're not making much sense.

John, already said I've switched controllers. Have been practicing with it and see a difference.  Plan to play a round shortly to see how it goes.  You would be wasting your time and money. Yes I see a difference now with my other controller, but I don't feel that my scores will change drastically good or bad.  Not that I played that well to begin with.

No answer to how others hold and play the game with their controller.

Inflames I made a big post earlier, but I believe it got lost in the other posts.

http://www.hb-studios.com/forum/index.php/topic,24067.msg301853.html#msg301853

Yesterday was a busy day at work, and afterwards went kayaking til after sunset with my wife, no time for making posts.

I'm not trying to make bad company, hatred, or put anyone down, only wanted to figure out why I would be banned. I have found my answer that not all store bought controllers are equal.  Enough said, back and forth since it appears to keep going back to it being my fault. Happy golfing.
