I’m finding on multiple RCRs that the wind direction HB shows is where the wind is GOING/POINTING and not where it’s coming from.  Pebble and Torrey pines most notably. The ocean is to the west.

Is this a big deal?  Not really. But seems easy enough to fix.

Simply stating that in weather, the wind is reported on the direction it’s from.

You do realize you can set the wind as a tournament setter

Not sure how that relates to the fact HB determines direction based on where it’s going. Simply pointing out how meteorology defines wind.

So do you mean as in the PGA season set by HB on RCR's.

If so sorry I misread what you meant.

Let me simplify

Name one course in the world where you play into the sun at dawn with a west head wind?

Not nessecarily. Depends on how the course is situated on the plot. Not sure that plot north and wind north matches up, however.

My most recent point confirms my suspicion.

So - did HB not lock the sun to actual directions?

Would have been the logical implementation, to allow the designer to rotate the sun but spin the directions with it... Easiest way to situate a course in the right way.

I’m not sure.  I recently noticed it playing some well known RCRs where the ocean (California coasts) and wind direction didn’t jive.  So then I played at dawn with a west wind and thus that confirmed maybe HB doesn’t realize how wind direction is reported?  Would be curious for them to weigh in and confirm.

Does it matter much?  No. But it’s still wrong. :)

Don't forget it IS a hb game. Don't trust it.

Quality in small things means quality in larger things.

Lack of quality in small things is a pretty sure sign of lack of quality in larger things.
