I've been scratching my head for a while at the way that the game interprets the inputs when curtailed and have found that if you produce what is known as a "short-swing" and finish with your line outside of the feedback channel to the left, the ball still flies straight

If you do so to the right, its a little more difficult to control, but again, a lot of shots fly very straight. More practice and I'm sure I could nail it.
Evidence #1 - Me messing about on the range.

https://youtu.be/GOKJkkH9yr0I played 9 holes purposefully trying to hit it as far left as possible, but keeping the swing short. It was alarming how straight I could hit it, as long as my feedback line didn't complete it's travel toward the extreme of the feedback circle.
I then played 9 holes trying to push it the other way, with less success, but I was a lot worse at keeping the feedback line short.
Surely this can't be operating as intended?
Happy to help with any further testing and would welcome feedback.
Cheers
