EA? + HB Studios = THE RETURN OF TIGER WOODS GOLF GAMES???????

If thats frostbite, im good with it.

It wouldn't necessarily have to be Frostbite, just because it involves EA and/or Tiger Woods.  Remember, Tiger Woods Online was built on the Unity engine.

What was tiger woods online?

https://www.gamesradar.com/tiger-woods-pga-tour-online-hands-on/  It was popular from like 2010 to 2014.   I played it briefly, but was never all that into it.  It didn't have a thumbstick control interface.

Jeffield,

Here's a summary of Tiger Woods Online from its wikipedia page:

"Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online (2010)
Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online was an online streaming version of the Tiger Woods franchise.

Players took part in single player modes or in tournaments. Tournaments were split into weekly and daily competitions, sometimes based on events then happening in the PGA Tour. For example, during the US Open, the courses that have had the US Open had a discount on points.

Players chose between monthly and yearly subscriptions with unlimited access, or chose to pay for individual rounds through microtransactions.[122] Players who didn't subscribe were still allowed to compete, although they were usually allowed to play only one or two rounds each day.

On September 6, 2011, it became integrated with the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 PC version. EA Sports retired Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online on July 6, 2013."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PGA_Tour_(video_game_series)#Tiger_Woods_PGA_Tour_Online_(2010)

It actually was retired a year earlier than I'd realized, 2013 vs. 2014.

I saw this Ad on Facebook this morning.  It looks like 2K is doing a big time push to sell off copies of TGC 2019.  Reading between the lines, taking clues from TGC history, and my gut feeling tells me that
A. The collaboration between HB and 2K is coming to an end.
B. A new game with a different publisher is on the Horizon, and
C. We should be hearing something pretty soon.

Let’s all hope guys !!!!

I agree with RockManDan’s speculation.

If HBS is developing a new golf game I wonder if they are considering self publishing it like they did with PG1.  ???

I'm glad you spotted this ad RMD!  It does give one pause to wonder.  I'll be curious to see what happens come March.  I'm thinking either they might be entering into a new publishing agreement for a forthcoming title with EA Sports, or they're going to self publish.  I'm leaning more toward the former...

They have these big “sales” every couple months so it’s nothing out of the ordinary.. just HB trying to get more people to purchase their half made game. Just so they can have the satisfaction of some new members saying how much they love the game while the rest of the community who has been let down just lays around waiting l..

Yeah... I did a little more research on this and it's part of a "publisher's sale".  All of 2K's sports games are on sale at these drastically reduced prices.  I'll reduce my TGC 2021 enthusiasm back down to "guarded" from "aroused", as a result.  :D

If that were the case, wouldn't they have the sale for PS4 as well...?

They do... here's a link to all the games and their associated platforms that are part of the 2K Publisher's sale; TGC 2019 is among them for the PS4:

Who knows how it continues. HB obviously has a passion for golf.   We are all fortunate for that

Thanks, JC... I had just looked in the PS4 Store, where it was still $49.99... my mistake.

It's quite a deal at $14.99, but pales in comparison to the paltry $2.99 that Ubisoft is asking for The Division 2... that's insanely low!?  I'm not into shooters that much, but I think I'm gonna come off the hip for this one! 8)

I think we are all fools.  So they release a good game, they make a couple patches to fix ball flight then completely abandon it.  Just about every game I’ve played that I’ve paid triple A price for has continued support wether it’s a patch to repair exploits, glitches etc or to add a new game mode.  If HB can’t even accomplish that what makes us think they are developing a new game when they didn’t finish the last?
2019 has been out for too long now and all the known flaws are fully exploited now. What a shame.
