Hi there, im new here and new to the game as i only got it 3 weeks ago. Ive spent the last 3 weeks designing my first course which ive all but finished. Anyway what im wondering is ive seen some posts where people talked about techniques for doing realistic cart paths but i cant find them again. Has anyone any tips for this? Thanks in advance

Some themes I better than others for this so trial and error. If terrain looks like the sort of path texture you want then place either side of your path area a heavy rough texture and see how that looks. Time consuming and long winded but can look ok

I used them on my Melody Farms GC.   I did a segment on here called Natural looking paths.
See picture to see if this is what you’re looking to do.

The biggest problem I ran into was  after I was done with designing and went into the playtest stage.
Then I found trees which I hadn’t sunk quite far enough.  I would have these weird little bunches of leaves sticking out of the paths.  I had to go back and delete and then re-sink them.  Overall though I am very happy with the way it came out.  SO much more realistic than the cheesy cart path surfaces.

Cheers guys and yeah i can see it taking 3 months if i was working but im off atm so that was 3 weeks at a minimum 8 hours per day sometimes up to 14 lol. Im already a fussy sort which i imagine will get worse as i get better. Ive uploaded it this morning so im starting to try my hand at a links one so i can try different techniques including the cart paths tricks mentioned above
