Hi all, can anyone advise where I can get Lidar Data for Scotland/England/Ireland? Do you purchase it or is it readily available for FRE or nominal amount?

Scotland is very limited.
Ireland Not found any lidar
England Free from the Defra Website------- https://environment.data.gov.uk/DefraDataDownload/?Mode=survey     (lidar point cloud data LAZ need to pick)

Best data is near the coast in England,inland data hit and miss.

Of course i am sure others will have more info about LIDAR,Got to be honest just a novice with it.

Wales - even more patchy, no tree data, and you need to know how to massage it into a .las or .laz file:

Are all those Ireland courses done without lidar?  They are really accurate.

Talking about Scottish data there is one designer who has done The Renaissance club and Today Released Kingsbarns Which is Really stunning one of my new favourite courses.Had to put the greens to moderate can not play on 120 greens but an amazing course.

Wow - I’m hopping right on to play Kingsbarns right now! Although LIDAR data is limited for Scotland it’s pretty good for the coastal areas and Fife/Heartlands where many of the best courses are. I plan to use LIDAR for Anstruther GC shortly (wish me luck!) and right on the edge of the LIDAR coverage near Loch Lomond [mention]apjgilbert [/mention] has done a wonderful job of my local track Balfron

Someone gave me the files for Royal Troon and Royal Dornoch there a little to big for my poor laptop too do anything with,if anybody is up to to the task i can always pass them on.

Look forward to your course,just wish there was some LIDAR for Ireland maybe the best links courses in the world there.

Agreed - those links courses are so naturally hummocky that not using LIDAR data and doing it manually would understandably put a lot of folks off even starting.
