The distance info you are looking at is not the distance to the hole (unless you have club selection and shot suggestion turned off in the settings) it is the distance to the marker, which is by default 2-3 feet behind the hole plus the amount of uphill elevation for the putt, eg 7 foot putt 5 inches uphill the marker will be 14-15 feet away.
Which is 7 feet plus 2-3 feet default behind the hole plus 1 foot for 1 inch of uphill elevation which in my example is 5 inches thus 5 feet, giving a total of 14-15 feet to the marker on a putt that actually 7 foot long.
For downhill putts there is no auto adjustment of the distance marker for elevation change, but the marker will still be defaulted to 2-3 foot behind the hole, so the marker on a 7 foot putt will actually be at 9-10 feet.
