This kind of fits in here.

A particularly poor approach shot left me with this monster and some conflicting on screen info.

It didn't end well.

Bonus point if anyone can name the course.

What you see there and consider a conflict is:
- the upper digits show the distance and elevation to the cup.
- the lower digits show the distance and elevation to the marker, that is preset way behind the hole as its going to be a uphill put.

Ah, the yellow marker.  Doing the auto suggest thing? Gotcha. Cheers, that didn't occur to me (obviously), probably because I never use it.

Interesting point made above that leads to one of my main suggestions in the game:

Once a player is on the green, the distance-to-hole value should be shown in feet to create consistency with the putting marker.

Obviously, you can multiply the yards by 3 and get there just as easy but it would be a solid touch of that could help some people really polish their putting.

I am having a hard time with putting but getting a little better with distance. What happened to me is I would blow it by 10 feet or miss those 1 inchers. So now I don't miss the one inchers anymore because I move the marker but I get scurrred of blowing by medium putts so I leave them short. I will print out what Lorin said though and bring it home with me lol.

Thats a crazy putt. I had one yesturday that was 55 inches strait decline. I wish I would of screen shot it. Didnt matter how hard I hit it because it was going off the green anyways.

im loving the game but getting frustrated about the putting. ive followed the guide from Lorin but still confused! one night the ft guide at the top right was 101ft, and lastnight it was 166ft! wtf! ok with 101ft i know its somehow 100% for full swing, but why does it seem to change all the time?

confused!

It changes based on green speed.  The further it goes at max power, the faster the greens.

A 21 yards putt. I think it would be easier to most people to do a flop shot here.

Do you guys/girls think that would be cheating?

i have seen pro golfers use PW or lob wedges on greens to get over corners and up long distances on greens. there is no rule to what club you can use on the green aslong as any mark is returned (like replacing divots on fairways).

Just checking. I was playing TW09 quite a bit and in that game there was alot of talk about people cheating when doing other things than putting on the greens.

Lorin, thank you for that analysis.  I'll work on my putting tonight using this method.

So if I followed this correctly:

It doesn't matter if the yellow marker is set at 20ft or even 100ft?

If the marker is set at 20ft, and you pulled back for 100%.  Your putter would hit for 100ft?
