I'm trying to design an authentic links layout but it's very slow work.
At the speed I'm designing it will probably take around 6 weeks to complete my course.
I wanted anyone that's got 10 minutes to play two holes that I've published just to let me know if I'm on the right path to designing a good course.

Kingsgate golf links (WIP)

Thanks for your time...

hey archie

no ones replied here and given any  feedback so i will for you

hole 1 --tee not level, maybe too big as well

maybe put some more tees in as well
fairway shape ok, those little bumps seem ok as well, maybe raise then up a bit

lower a little some of those bunkers as there flat and lumpy
the pin is in the wrong spot, its too steep near the pin and balls runs way down that steep slope, as you then have to belt the putter to get the ball back up that hill

hole 2 =  remove those shrubs or move them out a bit, as in strong winds your ball could and up in those brushes
at the 250 y mark those bunkers- left one maybe too small and the very tiny one on the right

flatten  or smooth the fairway edges at the 265 y mark too steep there especially on the right side near end of fairway

also with your blending

make the rough wider maybe 3 ft or wider along fairways and around the greens, blend it in a bit better

careful of those bunker faces as well as if ball lands right up against it it will be hard to get out over the lip face

thats about it from what i can see

hope that helps you mate

Ping

Thanks for taking a look & posting, your feedback is very helpful.
I am having trouble generating rough on the custom fairways I create,so I have to add it manually.
Any idea how I can auto generate rough on a custom fairway?
