Ok,sorry if this has been asked before , but i cannot find any thread with the answer. Bought the golf club for pc , using a wired xbox 360 controller . the pc recognises the controller, but i cannot get any actions to the work with the controller in the game. I have enabled use the gamepad in the menu , restarted the game. nothing - i cannot swing the club. is it me , or is this game fundamentally temperamental ?? Controller works fine with Half Life 2 by the way!!

The game will work with just about any controller.The game also has input settings for controllers which can be confusing for some.
I suggest you use different input for controller and see how you like it.

Download x360ce for your machine and put the files in the game folder and just run x360ce and it will set up your controller for you.After it does its thing.Close the program and you never have to open it again.
Then rename xinput1_3.dll to xinput9_1_0.dll and bob's your uncle.

There are different wired 360 controllers made for both the 360 and PC, the later should work without any problems right out of the box.

I just got a 360 controller for my PC and what's weird is that every round I start, I have to re-assign my controller or I can't swing with it.  And what's even weirder is that I can use the controller to re-assign the controller

There are 2 places to change your control method.  In Settings > Controls, you can choose between KB/M and a Gamepad as your default 'Gameplay' controller.  Then, from the pause menu while in-game, you go to 'Assign Controller', choose your name, and hit 'Continue' using the gamepad you wish to play with.  If you change the default gameplay controller setting to a gamepad, you should not have to assign the controller the next time you boot up TGC (assuming its plugged in when you launch the game).
