I'm also a fan of the clubhouse area. In the one picture with the wooden fence though...be careful not to just JAM a fence in there if it doesn't look needed. I can't tell from that picture but I don't see it really separating an area that needs to be separated. Keep it going! Awaiting my turn to play. :)

Great pics! It will be nice when we can use more than one texture for paths on a course.

I agree with what you say about fences Reeb, no point having one just for the sake of it...... On that hole in the picture the tee is right on top of a hill with a winding path leading down from it through the woods on the left. The sections of fence near the top are to act as 'safety barriers' so they kind of make sense being there, the rest of the fence down below was to try and show the continuation of that same path leading out of the woods and down towards the green.

I'm not 100% sure about the lower part myself either, but as I haven't finished with the planting and cosmetic stuff yet there is still time for change. I'm not really doing anything in any particular order, I'm just putting stuff in as and when an idea comes to me  ;D

Yeah I quite like that one too, it goes well with the colour of the clubhouse roof. I was just slightly concerned that it was a bit too much 'in your face' being a rather strong colour and maybe overpowered the rest of the area somewhat.

I haven't decided which one to go with yet, maybe HB_Paul will have come up with his soloution to multiple textures by the time I get around to publishing......

Couple more holes added today.

3 more to go after this then I need to do tee boxes and final planting, plus finish playtesting and tweaking before publishing...

and I like the bunkers near the green.  ;D

I actually dig the way you took the mounding into the fairway. That's a little detail that most guys miss. :)

Last couple of holes in place so now just final tweaking and testing. All being well it should be good for publishing by the weekend  :)

One thing I am hoping one of you expert designers may be able to help me with is in the following picture.

I ideally wanted fairway running all the way down the slope to the waters edge with just a slim strip of rough at the bottom. No matter what I do I can't seem to get it to work and end up with the ugly thing shown in the picture. Do any of you have any secret super-duper way to fix that ? I know I can just leave it all as heavy rough but that doesn't help the hole design  :(

there's no way for short rough to be the border with the water. What you have there is about as good as it gets. I will say that if you drop the ground in the water correctly you can get a little better look to the slope though (see oaks at Westchester for examples).

After a bit more playing around with it I managed to get the edge to look a bit better and then disguised it a bit with some strategically placed shadows  8)
