A shot taken from 1887 of The Biggins Pisshat which has been running from Edinburgh to Balwearie for over 140 years.  Still going strong today, the Pisshat is strongly linked with Royal Balwearie.

To commemorate the visit of Queen Victoria in 1890, the train was loaded with swans and sent into a pile of dead cows.  Prince Albert was said to be furious, and it is thought this is the reason why he decided to get a genital piercing, despite having died 29 years earlier.

See that guy driving the train?  That's Bonnie Mickie McCloud.  He is 130 years old now and still drives the train to this day, despite being totally blind, immobile and only kept alive by high voltages incessantly fired into his cranial lobes (whatever that means).

Did I just play an early version of this by any chance?

I've played Rbet and Rbet2 by Biggins, and it's gotta be the beta version of this course.  I just finished a round at Rbet2 and it's the best golf course I've yet to play in TGC!  It's rustic, natural beauty is unmatched!  Not only that, it's one of the most thought provoking courses I've ever played.  There will be a longer than normal local knowledge learning curve for this one, but it will be a pleasant one.  I shot -1 for my initial round there and had to scramble to get it.  If this is the beta, I can't wait to see the finished product... AMAZING work Biggins!

Thanks Jcauthen ;-)

Still sorting greens etc. and will probably lose the grandstands.  How was the performance?

after playing a practice round on Rbet2 --- which ran well on my *lower-end* PC --- let me sum up the experience by this graphic

I actually liked the grandstands, although they would look better if people were in them (this game desperately needs other people on the course even if they're only incidentally in various places).  I'd love to see golfers up ahead and on adjacent holes, even if they were only minimally animated, standing/waggling over shots.  But I'd settle for having the other golfer(s) in my group standing wherever they would be standing IRL, watching me play my shot, or going through the motions of lining up their shot if they were out of my line of sight as a start.

The performance was EXCELLENT on my PC, which is a little better than average, as a gaming machine.  I had the quality trees at 400, tree detail at 860 yards, Object detail at 3, and of course 1080p High Detail, and I saw between 42 to 48 FPS.

Well expressed Masterbroomer!  This course looks and plays more like a links course than any of the links theme courses I've played in TGC!

Brilliant stuff! I'm chuffed that the course is going down well.  The effort that has gone into making it play and look right has been immense and I'm really proud of it.

I'd save the version with the grandstands separately (just save the course file so you have it later) but publish the one without. If you want some help looking at the greens I'll give em a once over. I had one putt in particular that was...rage inducing. HA!  8)

^^^ haha

Any input on the greens would be appreciated on the new version.  The greens on the 1st version were nowhere near ready.
