Hello devs,

I have an Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 and I just updated to the latest driver 353.06. Ever since the game keeps crashing on start up. This has all happened today over the past few hours. Never had game crash on start up before. I am aware Nvidia and TGC have identified some issues. I already sent some crash reports as suggested from the crash error message but thought a follow up here might help expedite matters. I'm hopinh HB Studios and Nvidia will resolve this issue quickly and will avoid them going forward.

Thank you,

StoneComet

We are working hard to fix that issue.  The work around at this time is to roll back your nVidia driver or play in the 32 bit mode on Steam.

Devon sent me this message:

The problem still exists, even with the latest driver hotfix version 353.12.
I'm still working on this issue locally, and we've also been communicating
with Unity and NVidia. Non-technically speaking, it's like trying to catch a
greased pig while blindfolded, only the pig randomly warps to another field,
or disappears completely whenever you put on gloves, or peak out of your
blindfold, or even listen for pig noises.

Users who want, or need to run with the latest NVidia drivers can continue
to do so as long as they run the 32bit version of TGC. (Available under the
Beta options in Steam.)

Thank you for the response. I will roll back my driver. I usually wait a week or so before downloading the latest driver and surf around for issues. I thought the latest one would have been okay for TGC.

Sincerely,

StoneComet :)

Well,

Rolled Back driver to the version I used to be able to play on but game still crashes but now it's a black screen after start-up. Talk about fubar.

I'll check back later for now I'm unable to play the game.

Good Luck,

StoneComet

One more follow up. I did a system restart after rolling back the driver and I am now able to get in and play. At least so far. I am seeing a lot of screen tearing or shadow bars flickering down the screen especially when I change my aim. I noticed this before I tried the latest driver. It was one of the things that prompted me to update the driver. So for now playable although less enjoyable than before all this mess. Like I said, good luck and hopefully Nvidia and HB will be walking in lockstep from here on.

Keep at it,

StoneComet ???

This problem is obviously not resolved as I just experienced same issue after updating driver to 353.30. Rolled back driver and rebooted and works again- so thanks for advice in this post. An update if a solution comes up would be great.

Thanks

I believe 353.48 is the latest nvidia available right now.
