Yeah I done a thread on it @ 'Perfect Storm'.....no one is jumping for joy about it.

It amazes me because I had quite a few golf club friends that jumped at perfect golf the day it was released and they seem to love it...  It might have something to do with the game modes and mouse don't know...    Graphics aren't everthing that is for sure but to my eyes,  there is a night and day difference between the looks of these games with the good going with the golf club.

I'm serious when I say that no matter how realistic or great the gameplay is,   I feel like I'm hoping into the Delorean with Michael J Fox from back to the future when watching PG.

just tried the new build and hb have nothing to worry about...it's chronic! performance is god awful, chipping appears inconsistent, had two near identical chips that were poles apart in terms of result...i'm not getting the math and not feeling the love with it anymore...the performance is the main issue i have, forced to play on low settings which btw is ugly as sin and the difference from unity 4 is hardly massive... sound drops even more than it used to...those devs got a massive job to turn that around now...its very poor as it is.  :(

Hey man!  I was just watching one of your youtube videos of you playing PG,  and I must say the game looked horrible to me and that is putting it lightly.   I don't know how you made it through a round :)

Ugly to me...     I've watched many videos just to see the progress and this game really just looks so last gen and boring to me.   I'm totally open to new golf games,  but I just can't see anything good in terms on how that game looks!

I was watching one round by Dogzthebullocks  (not sure how he spells it)   and I guess it was a new update and I couldn't believe how unrealistic the trees looks,  the game really does give off an almost old school PC vibe.. I guess that is the old links feel that so many people use to like..   I'll admit I've never played the links golf game,  and I might of liked it back in the day but perfect golf looks like Links from back in the day just a little bit better..  I'm sure with it's game modes and lobby,  it's got some things TGC doesn't have but I still can't get past the looks of it...

Obviously there is a crowd that loves it and that is awesome for them,   but man oh man it does nothing for this guy..

The gameplay can be quite challenging & the graphics are really not that poor you also have to consider its very low price.
The more you pay the better the presentation will be,I think you'll see a big improvement graphically on TGC & PG with EA's golf game but it's going to cost $60 before any DLC.

I just think it's great to have another golf game on the market. It's so healthy for the golf gamining community. I was told too that PG will be out on consoles sometime down the road here.

As for EA, not trying to totally defend them but keep in mind that they have the PGA Tour license which could make the price more expensive. Some people seem to forget that. I think if TGC or PG had the PGA Tour license, the price would be much higher.

Again, I'm not trying to defend EA exactly but I'm just telling the truth.

I think it's just so refreshing to have 3 golf games as oppose to the one. We have 3 brand new games. It will be one year for TGC come Augusta, PG is in the works on consoles and is going on PC, and EA's got a totally different golf game with the name change, new gen consoles, etc so I think it's a great time to be a golf gamer.

Both TGC and PG have course designers (PG's Course Forge is only on PC I think) and RM PGA Tour looks to have a nice blend of courses to go along with the PGA Tour license.

And these games are all different. If you want to play some great courses designed by talented users as well as some wacky and fun ones, then you can play TGC. PG has capabilities of letting users completely recreate real world courses to play and RM PGA Tour features the career mode and PGA Tour tracks that virtual golfers love.

That is disconcerting DoGgz...I know it's in early access but didn't realise it was that bad.

The guys on the PG forums are raving about it....Are they deluded ?

they are very defensive about pg over there, loads of old timers of the 3 click brigade, don't get me wrong it has some good new additions, i love the pitch and flop and i do think the performance issue i experience detracts from my own experience, and my rig is not low spec, more medium...yet i'm not getting smooth gameplay at all, maybe once it gets optimised better i will appreciate it more, but until then i'm out.

How about you share your specs and graphics settings?  I'm sure I have a lower spec machine than you do, and it runs smooth as glass on my rig.  But, I guess if you're out, then you're out.

Amd A10 6800 cpu
8 gig ram
amd radeon R9 200 series

i can run it on lowest settings ok but then you might get a tee that has trees close by the tee box...then it kills the fps.  Tbh the lowest setting is ugly and does not inspire me to play it at all, i'm gonna see what i can do to try to improve things but i'm not holding out any hope...How the hell can i run the witcher 3 on high settings with stunning visuals yet struggle to run this with mediocre graphics...it's crazy! i'm pretty sure i read somewhere that unity does not perform well with AMD, maybe therin lies the problem...have no problem with the new features, i've mastered them real quick, it's just not enjoyable when the judder starts.

Show off !  ::)

I also got a hole in one today but it was for a par because my first tee shot found the water .

Celebration was subdued

The photo looks good but the videos I've watched make the game look very lifeless.    The videos do the game no favors.    The putting view looks downright comical ...

It's your CPU. For stone reason PG is very CPU intensive whIle TGC is GPU intensive.  I can play PG on ultra with sliders at max on every course but Chicago.  I think PG looks better than TGC, but I Play it on ultra.  The low settings look terrible so I can see where you're coming from.

PG looks amazing on ultra with sliders at max.  I thought the Golf Club looked terrible on videos before I played it. I've lost patience with having to shoot in the 50's to compete on TGC. The new build of PG is hard.

True, IMO PG looks worse in its low detail settings than TGC; however, in close to Ultra settings, Perfect Golf looks very good on my better than average gaming PC.  It also runs mostly smooth at those settings, rarely dipping to less than 40 FPS.   Each game has its strengths and weaknesses in graphics, but I give the nod to PG in ultra settings graphically.  Until it gets a real time thumbstick controller interface, that won't matter in my gaming world.

The game looks *almost* as good as that in the scrrn shot linked above on my PC and the detail settings I use.  Ir runs between 40 and 60 FPS with those settings.  I haven't seen a video of PG yet that comes close to looking and running as good as what I'm playing on my system, which is probably a better than average (but not great) gaming PC.

The putting view and reverse angle tracking of long putts needs some work though. I've seen it get better over time, but it still has a considerable distance to go yet.  What I'm hating most about the game is that I'm having to 3-click to play it.  The motion swing in non-real-time is unplayable for me, so I play the game in what I consider to be "tech demo" mode.  I won't really know what the long term appeal of PG might be for me, but until they incorporate a real time, thumbstick controller swing; PG will be an occasional diversion.
