I see that the "Trackman Dropping JNPG August 2020?" thread has been totally deleted in the Perfect Golf forum, without explanation.  That was one of the more spicey and informative threads I'd read there in the last two years.  Wonder what was behind that decision?  Anyone have any insight?

darn  ... I missed that !

A mix of the PG especially the lobby there and some features, with a mix of TGC 2019 you would have an amazing game. Its a crying shame really because both had/has potential to be fantastic games.

Got the money on steam as a present and nothing else I want to spend my money on unless I can get Links2003 on it which I can’t.

I’ve got it on disk Yeltz but I would need to buy an external drive to install it on my gaming laptop.

It happened without any warning, and there's still no explanation for why the thread was deleted.  It was up to like 8 pages and it was pretty informative.  Even Zmax, the President of the JNPG based, Online Golf Tour fired some shots as evidenced here in another thread:

Pulling the plug on that thread is a bit like HB's none explanation of the designer courses deletion thread.

Whatever the legal quagmire they have to navigate ... to me it's just plain ignorance towards it's community .

A very fitting analogy Sir Stan, although I think it's more "indifference" than "ignorance".  They know where their bread is buttered right now and they're going to do their level best to protect that.

Well, we got our first look at a what the offshoot of Perfect Golf, Virtual Golf 2, will look like on a projection screen with the Trackman simulator yesterday.  Here's a link to three photographs posted yesterday:

http://www.perfectparallel.com/topic/11459-tm-virtualgolf-2/?p=174820

Keep in mind these are photographs of projection screen graphics, so it's hard to make an A/B comparison between them and what we as PC and console gamers see on our direct display monitors and HDTVs.  With that in mind, I can see an improvement over what's seen in VG2 over JNPG, but I'd still like to see what it would look like via direct HD graphics.

Good spotting on the 2nd at Bellerive.  I haven't a clue on the middle photo.  I'd really like to see some direct video images, rather than photos of an image being displayed on a projection screen.

I'm sure it will release initially as a simulator only product, with about a 10% chance that it eventually becomes a PC/Console game at some point later on.   And yes, it would be a shame if it never does.

Check this screen grab from Virtual Golf 2 on Trackman's Instagram page:

It's hard to believe that's a rendered image, IMO.

The Virtual Golf 2 software for Trackman 4 was released this morning, so I guess when Trackman satys "very soon", they mean it!  The graphics are more stunning than I imagined they would be.  As speculated, NVIDIA'a Turf Effects are implemented for 3D rough.  The dynamic clouds add a lot to the atmosphere.  This is what next-gen golf gaming should look like in 2019... to bad we have to have spend a minimum of $19,000 on a Trackman 4 launch monitor to play it! :(
Here's a couple of links to some images and videos:

Check out the images and feature list here:

Oh how I wish they could figure out a way to integrate this magnificent software with controller and mouse control :'(
