Audio:

Music Volume - Sets the volume of the music in the game
Gameplay SFX - Sets the volume of the sound effects while playing the game
UI SFX - Sets the volume of the sound effects while in the User Interface
Commentary - Sets the volume of John's on course commentary
Ambience - Sets the volume of the ambient sounds like birds, crickets, etc

Gameplay:

Green Grid - Turns the green grid on or off.  Assists with putting.
Wind Meter - Turns the Wind meter on or off.
Shot Suggestion - ON gives you the club and shot type (full, pitch, flop, etc)  Club Only will only give you the club to hit for the distance you are from the pin.  You need to choose the shot type.  OFF always gives you the driver or putter, if on the green.  It also affects the yellow aiming marker.  With it OFF or Club Only, the marker will basically be put right at the hole.
Scout Camera - Allows you to  use the Scout Camera when setting up your shot.  The Scout Camera zooms forward on the hole to give you a view of what's up ahead.
Approach and Putting Cameras - This can be set to on to allow you an alternate camera view when within 70 yards of the green.
Drive Difficulty - This setting will change the driver difficulty by default.   It will loft up your driver every time so you don't need to manually do it.  The Hardest setting lofts the driver further up than the Hard setting which in turn, shrinks the cone even further making an accurate shot that much tougher.

Display -

Display Units - Choose between Metric and Imperial measurements in the game.
Score Display - Choose to display your score by Total (Gross) score or by the Net (handicap) score.
Follow Camera - With it set to ON the camera will auto follow your ball.  Set to OFF, the camera will stay at your golfer until you hit the Action button to follow the ball  (I.E. hitting "A" on the Xbox Controller)
Main Camera Preset - This is your main viewing angle.  You can toggle between cameras in game by hitting the "V" button on the keyboard.  On the Controller, click down on the stick opposite of the one you use to make your swing.
Putting Camera Preset - This sets the default camera that you can use when putting.  It gives you an alternate view of the green.  You can toggle this the same way as the Main Camera.
Approach Camera Preset - Just like the putting, this is an alternate view when you are in the approach range.  Toggle similar to Main and Putting cameras.
Scout Camera Preset - This sets the default target for when you use the Scout Camera.  You can set this to either the landing area or the green.  Toggle just like the other camera.
Aiming Reticle - Decide between having it on or off in the game.
HUD Offset - Increase the number to move the HUD elements closer to the center of the screen.  The HUD elements are the information graphics you see on the screen when on the course.
Show Ball Trail - Decide between having the yellow ball tracer on or off.
VSYNC - Enable or Disable vertical Vsync.    This allows you to synchronize the frame rate of the game    with the monitor refresh rate for better stability.  If the Vsync is turned off, you might obtain a higher    frame rate but it also may cause artifacts in the game.
Depth of Field - This is an optical technique that is used to reinforce the illusion of depth.  Turning this off may improve performance.
Anti-Aliasing - This is basically a smoothing technique but it does require a lot of computing power, so turning it off may improve performance.
Object Detail -  This is the overall visual quality of the objects on the course.  The higher the number the more horsepower needed from your computer.  Lower the number may improve performance.
High Quality Tree Count - The higher the number the more high quality trees that are being drawn on screen.   lowering the setting draws less high quality trees but may improve performance.
High Quality Tree Distance - This is the distance to which the high quality trees are shown.  Again, lowering may improve performance.
Water Quality - This setting changes the water quality being displayed and it can have a significant effect on performance if lowered.

Controls:

Left Stick Swing - This gives the option as to which thumbstick you want to use to make your swing.  Turn it ON to swing with the left stick and aim with the right stick.
Swing X-Axis - When set to Normal, the ball draws on an in to out swing and fades with an out to in swing.  When set to Inverted, the opposite is true and the ball path follows the path of the swing stick.
Default Gameplay Controller - Choose between using a Keyboard/Mouse or a Controller.  Note: You have to return to the main menu for changes of this setting to take effect.
Default Designer Controller - Same as gameplay but this refers to when you are in the Greg Norman Course Designer (GNCD)
Course Designer Mouse Zoom - This sets the sensitivity of the wheel when using a mouse in the GNCD.
Course Designer Mouse Rotation - This sets the sensitivity of the camera rotation with the mouse when in the GNCD.
Course Designer Camera Inversion - This sets the inversion setting for the camera when you are in the GNCD.  So you can have the camera move left when you move left or invert that.
Gameplay Camera Inversion - Same idea as the Course Designer inversion setting.

Social:

Turn Order Animation - This basically sets the speed of the turn order animations.  FULL will take the longest as it shows the full animation of your opponent.  QUICK speeds up the animation as it only shows the shot and not the entire setup process of your opponent.  NONE just launches the ball instantly and is the fastest turn based option.
Refresh Tour Rivals - Setting this to ON will refresh the ghost rivals between rounds during competitions.  Leaving this to OFF will keep the same ghosts you have chosen through each round of the event.
Show Rival Scores - Set this to ON if you want to see rivals scores before playing your round.  Set this to OFF if you do not want to know what your rivals shot prior to playing.  Setting this to OFF displays "???"  for your rival's scores in your notification feeds.
Auto Add Friends - This will add friends to your scorecard automatically when you both go to the same course.
Auto Added Rivals - This will add ghosts/rivals to your game when you go to play a round.  You can auto add up to 3 rivals.
Default Turn Order - This is the default setting for Turn Based play when playing against rivals.
In Game Notifications - Set this to ON to receive all social notifications when playing the game.   Set to INVITES ONLY to only receive game invites while playing the game.  Set to OFF so that no notifications come through while playing the game.  You will only see them after you are done with your round and back at the menus.

Above is a basic description of the settings in the game.  If you have any questions/comments regarding the settings, please post them in this thread.  I can always add to the descriptions or try to expand on them as well.

Some of the Display ones are PC only.

Are these three options PC only?

Yes.
Thanks for the quick reply.  Been thinking of getting a PS4 but have seen posts on the board about the lag on consoles compared to PC.  I was thinking if these display options were available on console they may help reduce lag.

I've been playing with the quality settings and finding the descriptions don't adequately explain what I'm seeing.   Can you add some depth to the descriptions along the lines of the questions below?  Thanks.

>>>> Object Detail -  This is the overall visual quality of the objects on the course.

This seems to affect object pop-in (ie plantable grass etc).   Objects teleporting into the field of view or not doesn't really seem like an "object detail".   Can you explain why/how this slider is affecting pop-in?

Also it seems to affect HQ Tree Distance and maybe also Tree Count.  If so, what is the relationship?

And it seems to be related to the initial launch condition of "High or Medium etc".   What is it changing?

I've seen HB say it is a "multiplier of all quality settings" but that is too "dumbed down" to make a lot of sense.   I've seen others say it controls the number of "triangles" used in drawing objects.   And others say it control draw distance for non-trees.  Still others say certain objects (eg plantable grass) are placed in layers and this slider controls whether these layers are visible.

It's clear as mud.

Can you explain in more precise terms what is really happening with this slider?

>>>> High Quality Tree Count - The higher the number the more high quality trees that are being drawn on screen.

Does this mean 2D to 3D trees or something else?

Is it only trees that are affected?  If more than trees, what else is affected?

How is it related to "Object Detail"?

>>>>> High Quality Tree Distance - This is the distance to which the high quality trees are shown.

Similar to the above, does this only affect trees?

How is it related to "Object Detail"?

>>>>   Initial launch of "High" versus "Medium"

What are the differences between "high" and "medium" quality?   It seems to change more than just the "detail" in a given object.

Hi,

Just got the R-Motion system which uses the Golf Club 1 as the software for the virtual golf interface.

Question....sometimes the R-Motion sensor fob registers a swing when you are simply moving the sensor fob out of one clip/club to another clip/club. Is there a way to enable a mulligan or go back a stroke?

Can we enable a setting that allows a gimme putt within like 10 feet to speed up the game? Putting with the sensor fob is tricky.

Also, can I edit the clubs in the bag and the distances to match what mine are in actuality?

One more question: after the hit....a data page with swing info/distance etc comes up for about 4 seconds and then automatically disappears. Can I change the time setting on that or make it manual click to progress? We feel like that info page goes away to quickly.....we want to see the data presented!
