What about being able to design a course logo and then have it on the flags?
Also, different colour flags.

Yes, yes, yes to this.... especially to mowing patterns.   That in itself will offer hundreds of variations to the existing themes.

The flags would be awesome!  but I could quickly see this being a nightmare to manage and monitor the...integrity... of certain people's custom images.  because...you know... rule 34.

Different color flags are in the update.  Not sure about designing logos as that can lead to some, let's just say, interesting designs.    :o   I think Paul was looking into mowing patterns.

Yes, different colored flags are, but only one color for the whole  course. I  would like to have up to 3 colors.   One for each front, middle and back pin locations on the Greens.

But this was a  nice change.

Different logos is on our list but its pretty far down.  Right now we only have to transfer some data that describes how the course is laid out, adding an image to that isn't impossible but its also going to increase the file size which we try not to do.  On top of that there are issues when it comes to inappropriate images to consider.

On top of all of that we would have to design some image editor that can be used across PC and the consoles.  It would be a whole new mode for the course creator that would need to be deigned and tested.  Thats not something we can knock out in a week or two unfortunately.

I wouldn't worry too much about inappropriate signs paul, you can spell anything out with rocks and bunker shapes, and to my knowledge I don't think anybody has done so far, so maybe if you can trust the general public to act adult like it should be fine.

Now you just put that idea into their heads. :D

I agree with you, let people have some extra creativity and if it is abused, then remove their course uploading ability.

Or punch them in the face.  Yes?  As a developer, I'd enjoy a good "Connect with your target user" feature I could turn on in varying degrees at times.  The highest of which would be to transport me straight into their PC/office location to allow for a good left hook.  ;)

I'm not violent.  I am a problem solver.

I second the added flag colors and things, but request not the added complexity of a logo designer.  I understand the extra associated cross-platform baggage.

+1 on the mowing patterns.  Just as an option....I like the cleanness of some of the grasses but would be nice to have those same grasses in the theme with options for patterns.

Left side fairway right side....into the grain away.
Criss Cross
Horizontal striped
Vertical striped

Just a few thoughts...
