If Anthony had come on this forum five minutes after they knew about the "BUG" (mistake) and said this "We put in extensive testing on the July update and released to the PC community two weeks prior to console submission just to iron out anything that might hinder the gameplay. This helped us breeze through the console submission. The sun was shining and we met the target we set for being out the week before The Open. Then within a minute of the game being released to the Xbox community we found that the left stick swing mechanic was backwards on that platform only. It was a stupid mistake caused by miscommunication between the QA team and mostly my fault for not being more thorough in the process of getting the build out. We had some legacy code left over in the Xbox input functions that weren’t in PS4 and PC, this was the reason that it didn’t affect other platforms.

We’d fixed it within five minutes of the bug being reported and got it back into Microsoft, so I’m just waiting for it to come out of their cert process now and then we’ll push it live."

That would have been the end of it for me no problem everyone makes mistakes no problem, BUT HE DIDN'T he started ranting on about how left stick was a pain and did we know how much work it took, and how meany lines of code bl bl bl bl bl. not good

Wow.  So, do you have these same expectations from every other game studio?

They don't owe anyone any explanation.  They admitted mistake, enacted a fix, and now we wait for M$.

Done.

I agree with this entirely.  I was far from happy about the bug (noone including HB was).  But HB Studios took ownership, submitted the change and we shall all move on.  It messed up my TGCTours week pretty bad, but it was a minor mistake.  I think it is worth noting that part of the reason I (and probably others) got upset is I knew (1) that my opinion would be listened too within the group and by HB (most dev wouldn't).  and (2) HB has made few missteps like this so it was a bit jarring.

Are you guys completely reading what omglovegolf wrote?
He's mainly upset about Anthony's decision to come on and start complaining about "options" and the "left stick", etc

The last line is key

So people are ok with the left stick thing.
What they are really upset about is what Anthony posted.
That's what you are saying?

I'm reading the forums... I'm not thinking that's it.
I'm thinking it's the left stick thing.

No good trying to say ANYTHING bad about HBS the fan boys won't listen, HBS can do anything they like and the fan boys will still love them sad really. Now if EA screw up wow.

Dude, you've got about 10 posts in this thread with nothing but nasty crap to say.  Honest to God, it's a freaking video game and you behave as though its life and death.

You seem to have a bug in your arse in regards to HB and Anthony.  Maybe you should think about the "other" game and move on?

Sorry, this a bug that was recently introduced in error.  The fix has already been sent to Microsoft and hopefully it will be out soon.  It just has to pass through the MS certification process.  In the mean time, you can use the right stick to swing as that works normally.  Just need to change it to Right stick in the settings.

In my case Keith it's not hitting full shots with the right stick that's the problem it's the little delicate shots round the green and the putts.
Just saying.

I'm sorry man,   but I can speak for many of us on the fact that whatever Anthony said was no big deal,   in fact,   we are honored to have him be so open with our community in the first place.   Anthony Kyne is an extremely accommodating producer and is always sympathetic to our request.   My opinion is this-   you have a total right to take Anthony's message about the coding of the left stick however you want it,   but I didn't take it negatively at all...     For me,   he was just frustrated and speaking his mind on some of the difficulties of the little things when they're constantly working to improve this game for all systems....

Having said all of that,   I'm the type of community member you speak of   I guess "A HBS fanboy",   so it really doesn't matter how I feel  because I biased...   Anyway,  I gotta go rub some lotion on my Anthony Kyne ass  portrait  tattoo.. ;D ;) :P

Do it proudly... Anyway,   being called a fanboy is generally what a disgruntled or disagreeing gamer who shows unbridled love for the game they hold in high regard.   I'm a huge fan,  but I've also been critical,    I think you have to be careful though what you choose to harp on or you run the risk of being lumped in with the spoiled kids.

There is always room for criticism, but I tire of the negative Nancys that are so prevalent in the gaming arena.  Well, on internet forums I  general.

The fix has been in MS' hands for a few days now.  It has to go through their certification process, of which they give no progress updates.  Hopefully it will be soon.
