For those who have difficulty grasping the concept;

When Microsoft have passed the cert, the left stick motion will return.

Of course it's not ideal if you are used to the left stick swing but are you able to use the right stick to swing in the mean time?  I have been a left stick swinger the entire time and it takes a little getting used to the right stick but it is still playable that way.

As Pub mentioned, the fix has already been sent to Microsoft but it will need to pass through their certification process.
So, I should get used to right stick swinging? Is that your solution? Why don't you admit you didn't test this at all, instead? This is a huge mistake and shouldn't be in the game. You make a fool of yourselves as gamemakers, really.

Such a shame, since the game has a lot of potential.

How can you NOT test left stick swinging? Thats beyond my imagination (and no, I haven't been reading all of the thread, it shouldn't be necessary, should it? Since this problem shouldn't be a problem at all, so many months in development.

You CAN play it.  The game works 99% fine.  Would you have bought it if there was no option to use the left stick at all?
I can't talk for the person you responded to, but personally: No, I wouldn't have bought it, should there not been an option for left stick use. Not at all, because that would have been plain stupid.

Just quit be defensive about this thing. It's a stupid bug, easily discoverable (if some one had bothered trying detecting bugs even a couple of minutes). It's lazy programming.

Damn right I'm defensive.  I've been a part of the TGC community since Beta testing and have seen the great lengths these folks have gone to to create this outstanding game.

They've gone far and above any studio that I can remember to ensure that the people who buy their game are heard.  They've willingly changed core elements of this game, through FREE updates, to please their customers.

I've been in business for decades and have dealt with hundreds of clients and companies and I can tell you without hesitation that I have never experienced a better example of service to their customers.

So, forgive me if I think you are being a tad harsh.  They know a mistake was made and they have fixed it.  Relax and recognize these folks work hard to correct any mistakes as quickly as they can.

I imagine it'll be fixed before Tiger gets his game fixed.  ;-)

My golfer doesn't raise his club unless i hit UP on the stick first instead of DOWN.  How do I fix this?  When I hit invert nothing happens and it says for the X axis anyway...

Sorry, this a bug that was recently introduced in error.  The fix has already been sent to Microsoft and hopefully it will be out soon.  It just has to pass through the MS certification process.  In the mean time, you can use the right stick to swing as that works normally.  Just need to change it to Right stick in the settings.

I played yesterday with right stick and I failed 20% of shots and the power is only of 95% sometimes. The worst was the putter missing the line in 60% of times. I finished the rounds with + 4 or more shots. I try to play Rory Mc illroy Golf and it's a disaster. I played the prologue and one round ,and I am really sad with the EA. For this, waiting left stick in TGC like water in the desert.

I've always played with the right stick but something has went wrong since the update regarding swing power.
On around 70% of shots the power is only getting 95%.
Seems purely random what shot its going to happen on.
Can't believe this has happened to the game on the release week of the 'other' golf game.
Hopefully someone commits to giving an answer on this problem too rather than just the left stick problems as this is a gamebreaker.

Its XB1. And the TGCtours forum has chat going on regarding this issue too.

If Anthony had come on this forum five minutes after they knew about the "BUG" (mistake) and said this "We put in extensive testing on the July update and released to the PC community two weeks prior to console submission just to iron out anything that might hinder the gameplay. This helped us breeze through the console submission. The sun was shining and we met the target we set for being out the week before The Open. Then within a minute of the game being released to the Xbox community we found that the left stick swing mechanic was backwards on that platform only. It was a stupid mistake caused by miscommunication between the QA team and mostly my fault for not being more thorough in the process of getting the build out. We had some legacy code left over in the Xbox input functions that weren’t in PS4 and PC, this was the reason that it didn’t affect other platforms.

We’d fixed it within five minutes of the bug being reported and got it back into Microsoft, so I’m just waiting for it to come out of their cert process now and then we’ll push it live."

That would have been the end of it for me no problem everyone makes mistakes no problem, BUT HE DIDN'T he started ranting on about how left stick was a pain and did we know how much work it took, and how meany lines of code bl bl bl bl bl. not good

Wow.  So, do you have these same expectations from every other game studio?

They don't owe anyone any explanation.  They admitted mistake, enacted a fix, and now we wait for M$.

Done.

To be fair - Anthony didn't really do himself any favors by even getting into the "left stick/options is a pain" stuff.
Just no point in opening up that can, especially as lots of people like and use the left swing stick.
