Today, once again I was looking for someone to play live on the PS4, just so I knew I had the same wind as my opponent. Well, after waiting and waiting I was getting restless.
One thing I noticed that I didn't like at all was the fact that I knew there were a couple of live players that I didn't care to play with on a couple of courses but the message center
"Live Players" notification section was clear and void of any of the players that I knew were active. So right out of the gate, the live players message system doesn't work on the ps4
or at least it hasn't for me. This has got to be a BUG... (Let me clarify, I'm not talking about the active players in the settings while you're in a game, I"m talking about the message center before you start a game)
Anyway, this brings me to an idea which to me seems like a no brainer for this game. Even when you have lots of friends like I do that doesn't mean you will find them online playing
the game at the same time you are so why doesn't HBS give us a way to play people that aren't on our friends list? I want to hear from HBS why we can't have that option if we want it?
To me, this would make this game at least for online purposes totally rock! If you were able to do this, you would have so many opportunities
just to play someone live anytime you wanted. I understand you can play ghost balls all day long but quite honestly if you're looking for competition outside of the tours where the wind is still broken, live play is the only way to know you're playing with similar winds. Even once the wind fix is active in tours I still believe that an option needs to be available for us to choose to play live players that aren't our friends, and there should also be an option IN GAME that allows us to send a friend request as well to bolster up our friends list...
I mean, why would this be an issue? Maybe have something in the message center that had a list of courses with live players or something of that nature? To me, because this game is
void of a lobby system that lets you preset game parameters something like this could bridge the gap. I understand that you might be starting ahead of the golfer already on a course but at least you could choose to play with his ghost after he has finished the game.
All in all I'm just looking for more ways to be able to log on and actually play a live player! This is very important to lots of gamers and I feel like this is where the games weakness lies.
Can anyone from the studios tell me what sort of issues would there be implementing this type of thing?
