I'll try that, but I'm sure it's barking up the wrong tree. I've used this SCUF with like fifteen prior games in a row, without any issues.

Looks like this may be the Xbox version of the Hori.....
PC

Xbox One X

Xbox One Elite Controller

So I did more testing.

1. I reinstalled the game...twice. No luck.  Still couldn't get the Advanced Shot Icon to appear with the L1 trigger.

2. I then went and tried to re-map the SCUF controller. Yes...that did it. Found the problem. Some experimentation revealed the inside/rear paddle (only found the SCUF, four paddles back there)) was the button assigned for the L1 button. Well, i should say I was able to re-map it back to one of them, but not to the L1. This at least isolated part of this problem. Not sure why this was set up like this? I didn't assign it this way. This is how the game 'read' my controller. The game forced the L1 assignment onto that rear paddle. Odder yet, was that while the paddle would bring up the advanced shot menu, it wouldn't be able to hold it up.

I tried a bunch of re-mapping with it, but gave up after a few minutes. I went and found an old controller, got that synced up with the XB1, and the advanced shot icon system worked fine with it.

I can now actually play this game.  Went and played the Magnolia Golf Course on the Thursday version...and shot a +4. I was very happy with this result, as I originally shot a +22 last week, without using the Advanced shot stuff.

Tech people....I can't believe you haven't seen this yet. SCUF controllers are very popular. You need to keep an eye on it.

High end controller for consoles.

Almost a must-have if you also into First Person Shooters (FPS). The controller has a number of great innovations for better control. Things like added weight, grips, trigger stops on L1 and R1, and it gives additional button options behind the controller, so your fingers can move less. And most of all, it allows button re-mapping. You can assign the game controls, to the buttons you want.

At least you know where the issue lies now, I guess as long as you can get it working consistently using one of teh buttons you have a functioning game that you can enjoy :)

I'll just use my older controller with this game.  And use the SCUF controller for other ones.
