So was there another patch today? cause if there was the game still crashes unless I got to 32-bit mode.

Sam

What system you people running this game on that it crashes on..??? i have tested this on both windows 7, 8.1, 10 64 bit OS no problems EXCEPT when HB tells me the black retainer walls i was seeing was on my end which turned out to be BS and HB never offered an apology after they found out that the HB dev crew needed to buy a clue. FYI never blame my gear i`m more updated on the latest tech gear more than you HB... :)

Apology, for heaven sake give it a rest. Your lucky you walked away unscathed, and some old lady didn't wack you with her purse.

There is no need for an apology because all along we have said it was an nVidia issue.  Never once was it said it was a problem with your setup.

???  How in the world you got it in your head that HB was blaming your "gear" for the problem you were seeing is beyond the wildest stretch of my imagination!?  It was clear to me that they were talking about the nVidia drivers being at the root of it, yet somehow you read into it that they were pointing the finger at your gear :o  ???  Perry Mason couldn't have made a case for your allegation!

So I decided to give the 358.50 drivers another try.  Last time it must have been just that the course was really graphics intensive.  This time around, I got no decrease in FPS and no more stutters.  No improvement either, but at least now I'm running up-to-date drivers.  No more crashes and all is well.

Anthony is still waiting for his apology.   ;)

I don't know about Perry Mason, Stevie Wonder would have seen through that.

I have the new drivers also, they work fine. GTX 980 Windows 10 64-bit.

New 358.87 drivers work on my W7 64 system with GTX970. If using HDMI change the "Output Dynamic Range to "Full", otherwise display is washed out a tad and the game will look much better.

Does make a difference not only with TGC but other games as well. Also it works using Display Port ports.

[Where's the "like" button?]  :D

Thanks a bunch for the suggestion about changing the Output Dynamic Range.  I installed the 358.87 drivers yesterday and changed my Output Dynamic Range to Full.  Not only does the game look better, I haven't had one crash, nor even a stutter since the changes.  I'm really surprised at how much more vibrant all games look now!  I can't say that it's helped the game's frame rate any, but somehow everything just feels more solid and stable.

Changed to 358.87 today and had 3 crashes on public courses at the point where the course is about to load.

One oddity is that if I choose a TGC course, open it then immediately close it down I can choose and play one of the public courses !

That is an oddity Cap'n... I should say, one thing I started doing going back two builds, is to always launch the game by first hitting the launch options button.  I don't change anything and just wind up hitting the run button from there, but it seems after I started doing that, I have had few crashes and so far, none with 358.87.

Capt, same thing started happening here.  Yesterday, I had 3 crashes just as the course was about to load.  I reverted to the 320.78 drivers and everything loads normally again.  Tell me again why, when everything works, do I still try to make the new drivers work.  Apparently, I don't really need them.

I was having an issue as well. The game was working fine until the December update (Windows 10, NVIDIA GE Force645)

Then all of a sudden, I got to the title screen and the game would freeze and I'd get a game error.

I took a peek at my system settings (right click desktop, click display settings, click ABOUT, scroll to device manager).

I looked for my video driver and it had a ! sign, it said it needed a restart after I downloaded the update. (I usually let my monitor sleep on low power instead of shutting down :S)

Anyways, long story short, I restarted my system, checked my driver (no ! sign), and started the game...its been working fine ever since. Glad it was a small issue.

If anyone else is having that issue..that's what you need to do.
