So now is the time to go back to sawgrass and remake it! I wanted to start this thread for data collection! Any pictures you guys have of the course or little tid bits about holes that you have please post them here and I will use them to try to make the best recreation I can. I have started getting all the measurements on the holes and will start laying out the holes soon. I will be using the tropical theme. I also have the course on Tiger and Perfect Golf to reflect on for elevations and sculpting. Any additional info I can get would be helpful. Thanks!
Check out all my course's, listed in the OP of my "friendBOMBER's course catalog" thread in TGC2019 completed courses:

Okay...so that sounds really awesome and I can't wait to see it, but we REALLY need Firestone flipped to the rustic theme and released in a shorter length for protee!  I've had that in the back of my mind for the past couple months waiting to see what the new update would do for it.  :)

Best of luck.  I live 10 minutes from there and have played it several times, go to the Players every year, etc.  It's going to be tough to get it to look right with no pines.

Shoot me a PM if you have questions about specific holes, etc.  I can probably help out.

Yeah...the rustic theme is pretty awesome for the best mix of trees we've had to work with...but it doesn't help out when palm trees are needed.  "Rustic Tropical" theme next?  :)

I think the tropical theme needs an improvement/variation in the march update.  It's much like countryside...it was a good looking theme, but limitations on tree selection made it difficult to recreate a lot of courses using it.  Rustic solved that for the countryside setting.  We need something similar for tropical...call it an Everglades theme or whatever.  Some pines and other tree types mixed in with the palms...and maybe some tweaking to the terrain and how water is handled.

On the golf simulator forum, one of the PG proponents told someone that was looking at both software options to compare the versions of Sawgrass in each one to see how much better PG was.  That was an unfair comparison since TGC doesn't have a theme that enables it to create a good version of Sawgrass currently.  I hope that will be addressed in March.

I have kept my file just in case we get a pine/palm mix but to be truthful, the course as a whole does nothing for me, boring track until you get to 17.  So even with a tree mix i cannot see me finishing my version.

16 is one of the best par 5's in the world but it only is if you are actually on the course.  When you walk about 200 yards down the hole you look to the right and see 17... as you are setting up your shot to hit to 16, and an incredibly narrow target area that's actually a harder shot than 17, you're thinking of 17 and usually mess up.

He designed them together as a psychological ploy to get you thinking ahead and then paying the price for it.

Of course you're thinking of 17 on the 1st tee so it wasn't hard :)

Pebble has a moment like this... through the first 4 holes you are thinking "I paid $500 for this" and then you walk past the champ tee on #5 and look over and WOAH  lol

Courses I claim in order of how I like em

Pacific Bluffs Golf Club
Soggy Bottom Golf Club
Old Beaver Creek (With Reebdoog)

It's wierd, but I honestly think that 6-11 stretch on Pebble is overrated except for the second shot on 8. Enjoyed the rest of the course much more.

Pebble is

6 bad holes you'd find on a local muni

6 nice holes you'd find on a better course

and 6 holes that are HOLY $@#$$@#%^ THAT WAS AWESOME

#8 is the best hole in golf - every serious golfer should play it once before they die
