Sorry not been on here in a long time, Crossfire didn't actually work with the dirt3 profile in the end, the usual bugs reared their ugly heads not long after i posted.

I no longer have 2x7970's, i got rid of them last November and am now running a R9 Fury....the game has run much better since, well over 60-120fps....The only problem i have now is the frame times, they are all over the place and the game is very stuttery....

Grey, or anyone else for that matter, if you ever consider a two card setup, be sure there are not equal set ups with a single card.  Single card set ups are always a better option vs two lesser cards paired together to equal the same performance.
i will....

Agree taste.....however as games move forward into Windows 10 and DX12, multi-gpu setups will be supported and WON'T need SLI or CrossFire profiles......don't lose those SLI/Crossfire setups just yet unless you see a card that beats them both, then by all means, best option is a single card.

er, i was running two top tier cards at the time 7970's.....

There was no single card at the time that got anywhere near close to them.

I have upgraded to a fury since so i don't have the problem anymore, and i don't have time to play the game anymore anyway.
