I really see this game as a great game.. it reminds me of NBA 2K in its early stages when people were still trying to perfect gameplay.

Everyone complains that the game is too easy.. (Except me, I'm a 2 Handicap on the game lol) Well there no way to change physics but you can change gameplay or difficulty by perception.

Check out these camera/shot option/visual settings that is pretty close to tour pro mode ala Rory PGA.

I think with the zoomed camera, changing swing axis to normal instead of inverted, and taking away certain helps this creates a very realistic looking/playing game, and also forces you to watch flybys for green breaks and use the hole overview like a yardage book.
(You can use approach cam from 45yards and in though, I feel this simulates the fact that you can only really get to study the Greens breaks after your approach shot, unless you studied the hole beforehand)

It also makes the game looks damn good.

Check it out guys and tell me what you think.

How about

green grid - OFF
Wind meter - OFF

Grid on makes short putts too easy from a realism point of view.

Without wind uncertainty approaches are too close on average.

But it's great with options to tailor the game experience and happy you found "your settings".

Lol yeah id rather not play with no green grid or wind indicator. No way to read greens because it doesn't show undulations like that..same with wind direction.

Attempting to make the game more  enjoyable, not a crap shoot lol

But dont knock it before  you try it..

You can read the wind and greens with them turned off, just takes a bit of experience and practice. Once you understand it it'll be the only way you play the game.

True. You should try your sim settings with hardest swing, scout cam off, club only selection and main camera three.

If it doesnt add two strokes to your score you can call me all types of names.  8)

I think scout cam off w/ the zoomed main cam really adds an element of difficulty.

Question: Does every one play with inverted or normal swing?

I find with normal swing I can execute real draws and fades without using the shot shaper box.

I use to play with your settings (or almost all) and it would be great to find a "Tour mode" using them, as I've already written in an other thread it would be a good "middle ground"  beetween the TGC tour (with all aids on) and the True sim tour (no wind meter/green grid) ;)

For the life of me I can't read any wind at all without an indicator on a 2D screen.

I like wind indicator and green grids off too. You still get the direction of the wind and if you hit the overview you can hear the strength of the wind and notice when it changes..  Also if you use the low view putting cam. You can see the green undulations as you would in real golf.  Of course you're not going to get the exactness of watching moving beads but it makes it more challenging/ closer to really reading a green.  This is what I was getting at in my "want more challenge?" thread.

Been playing a lot of "Tour Pro" rounds with green grids and wind meter off.. pretty fun and im starting to notice that you can determine wind speeds by how much trees sway in over head view combined with the sound.

Had anyone been playing with normal swing instead of inverted?

What is inverted swing? Is that available on consoles or just p.c.?  Also I've read that game looks better on p.c. is that true? May get a budget type gaming p.c.

I don't get how turning the wind off makes it more realistic, IRL you can at least gauge the wind by feeling it blow, here you have to wait for the flyover to complete just to look at the flag, and who the hell has time for that! ...instead of turning the wind off play a round without the flop shot, if you have a 25 yd shot into the green use the pitch in a granular fashion, its not that difficult, but at least you risk messing it up, flop is a guaranteed shot to safety with or without aids.
