Hi Folks!

i am realy not the man, who is angry when having fun at playing.
BUT the mouse contol system in this game is MORE than unfair.

Why:
I am playing the TGC Tour now.
So, training hard, optimizing controling mouse movement forwards and backwards.
And, what shall i say... it works.
But suddenly, in the tournament--> no way.

Moving mouse same way as i always do, but 52%, not 100% like at last swing.
Next time trying IRON 4, same procedure, one time 100%, next time 45%.
It is not the thing, if i have a range from 100% to 97, or 98... but movement is
the same and i have 100% on one hand and 45% on the other.

That is not a problem of my movement, it is FOR SURE a problem of the game.
In that way, playing does not make any kind of fun.

And looking of incoming updates, i have the misgiving, the game will not develop in
further future..... "poor PC- Mouse Gamers"

Greetings from Austria

Do as I did, buy a Xbox wireless controller for PC.  much better, Just plug it in and it finds your games. into a usb slot on the PC.  dead easy.

I got mine at amazon uk, dont know where you are.

Hi Folks!

@gavain2!
I do have one, but that is not my concern.
Since Links 2003, the forward/backward "Swing" is the ultimative PC-Mouse Swing for
Golf Simulations, and it is easier to program, than all the other "SiFi"-Swings.
But it seems, that PC-Players are not so important, than the Console Players.

Well, i`ll try again....and again.... and again...  :(

Not sure where you get this idea from, but I can assure you there is nothing easy about programming a mouse UI for a Golf game.....

@Didi, you are saying that this occurs ONLY when playing in tournaments?

I use the mouse swing and hardly ever have this happen but I also don't play on TGC tours.

That needs clarification for the devs to look into this.

I have this problem and I can confirm that it happens more in TGC tournaments than in general play, Just cost me 2 double bogies on a bogy free round. Have now stopped playing TGC tours (which I really enjoy)until something is sorted

Hi Folks!

@DivotMaker!
Sorry for my anger.
Everthing to program for simulations is not easy. So, sorry.

@Dusty Roads!
That problem occurs for sure, more in TGC-Tournaments, than in normal playing
Played the same cours as a normal Round, and i never had this problem.
Even a friend did--> same problem

So maybe, when playing the TGC, the performance during data transfer is not right and that causes lags.
That is only one eventuality.
It is, for sure, not my internet connection (150Mbits Download/20Mbits Upload)
Even not my System:
Intel i7 4790K
Zotax 97GTX
8Gb ram
1000GB SSD

So, perhaps any official can expose this problem to the developers

Thanks for the reply Didi.

I am curious now if there is an answer to this.

Well i dunno, but as everyone knows..or should know by now....the game was originally developed for PC to be used with a controller...mouse/kb was added because of many requests...no 3-click meter or true swing ruler.... ::)

So, sorry but i just don't get the bitchin' about different game play....

Everyone playing on PC is going to experience differences in game play, regardless of whether you play mouse/kb, or controller...everything, is in play many variables.........

I experience none of your problems on TGCT with only 60mbps download...i do, use a controller.... ::)

Ya think maybe, the mouse/kb could be the problem...just a thought.........

AND, if that is the problem...remember, the original concept of the game...... ???  What....

Even if mouse control was added later, how hard can it be to do it correctly? It has been done correctly so many times already, and it is not exactly a new peripheral for the pc. Now I don't know if mouse was added in later, but if I had known that the game was designed for controller use only I would not have purchased it. I don't have a controller for the pc, and I am not going to spend $60 to get one. The one thing that is odd, is that for a brief time mouse worked ok enough to play. After I upgraded to the collectors edition, it became worse than it ever was. I feel that if HB is not going to support mouse swing, they should say so and remove it. This way I will know to give up on the game and not keep hoping for an update that will fix it.

I find that any sub-100% shots while using the mouse are a result of poor frame rate, rather than anything having to do with tournament play. It helps immensely for me to turn down my settings to LOW when launching from Steam.

My PC is on the very low end in terms of hardware, so your experience is probably different, but it's worth noting how lowering the load on the GPU can help.

I feel your pain. After they added the new swing and made it where you had to deal with 'mouse sensitivity' everything just broke.

Set the sensitivity too low and you get under 100% shots.  Set it to high, your shots are full power but when you putt the club comes back so fast you blast it by the hole.  This is why i think the developers kept in the ability to pull back the club slowly, inch by inch hold it there as long as you want and then release for the shot.  I know many people who use a mouse that do this. 12 foot putt? They go into the overhead cam and pull back inch by inch until they get the club head where they want and then release.

The problem is, that isn't GOLF.  Putting is all about feel and there is no way you can get any type of smooth tempo by using this method.

In the end I wasn't going to play the game if the only way I could putt was to pull back little by little.  Instead I came up with my own method that works but really does suck that I have to use it.   I turn the mouse sensitivity to 70.  Then I have a couple of profiles for the mouse.  For my normal shots, I use about 900 DPI setting which allows me to get 100% shots.  For putting tho I drop it down to 700ish.  This slows the mouse down enough that I will still get full power but I can now putt using a natural tempo.  I have a third DPI of 3000 so after the shot I can move the mouse freely on my big screen without having to lift the mouse.

It works. The downside is sometimes I forget which DPI I'm on and take a drive or a putt with it on 3k DPI and well it gets blasted either by the hole or way off line.

It is unfortunate that I have to go through all this but I literally spent months trying to find something and working with Anthony and the gang over at HB to find something that worked for me.  The original game was designed for 800DPI for a proper swing so I'm not too far off the original settings.  Still it really does suck I have to go through so much to make the game playable and even then, my putting and game is about 5 shots per round less on average than it was before they messed with the swing, so despite my fiddlings, I'm still not playing anywhere near the way I was.

Hopefully in June when they announce either TGC2 or Unity 5 (or both) there will be a better swing to go along with the bug fixes to putting.  If they don't then I probably will discontinue with the game as I can't use a controller due to surgeries on my thumb.

Funny how the game seems to have one of the best and one of the worst putting implementations made at the same time...

Prior to the last patch and swing 'tweak' in December, the putting was absolutely amazingly awesome.
