Looking real nice!  Love those bunkers.    For my taste I think I'd like to see all of those bunkers and fingers have some more sculpting, mounding those up around the edges in places much more.  Maintenance staff will kill me...but... :)  Looks like there are some...and possibly enough already...just can't tell from the high angle beauty shots.

Anyway, really nice looking, great work!

Thanks for the kind words Storm!
I think when you place the bunker, it drops your elevation by 1.5 ft. I've since dropped them another foot or so.
I don't think the overhead pictures do the depth justice.
And those 2 shots where the green is kind of an island with the waste bunker in front, one is like 6 ft lower than the green, the other is like 8 ft.
As with all my courses, the bunkers aren't a fun place to end up. They're not unfair, but they're still plenty punishing.

My big debate right now is what to do with the waste bunkers:
Partially fill them with plants/grasses
OR
Leave them alone and let the user imagine the scruff in the bunker

Right now, the course has a TON of trees, meter is about 55-60%. It runs smoothly though on ps4.
Adding stuff to the bunkers may hurt the framerate, which I don't want to do.
So while I'd like to add a little more realism, don't want performance to suffer.
I'm currently sculpting the greens, so I have a few days to decide.

Sounds good.  Keep in mind alot of designers will not only lower the bunker but raise the ground in mounds around it.  I think that was more what I was talking about.  It's very prevelant on BayHill I'm now working on.  The bunkers themselves are not very deep but the mounds around them are 2-4' tall in places.  It's hard to get right in GNCD but most bunkers are actually fairly FLAT where the sand is...but the sculpting of the grass fingers inside and outside is where the elevation happens!  It also plays crazy hard in real life and in game to have a ball 2' above your stance!  ouch.

As for planting, I think you can get away with quite a bit of planting on each hole in strategic places.  All of these objects typically don't show up on other holes (or sometimes even on the teebox) as they are "culled" away by the system.  Means they disappear and are not calculated.  I also don't think the planting meter will go up much because of this.  I was at about 90% on Trump National recently and only at that time began to add all the plants and bushes around....It didn't move any if much at all from there.

The big objects are what causes they meter to move...not those that get culled out at different systems...as far as I understand it.

Good luck...looking good!

Yeah, I know what you mean w/the mounds around the bunkers. Usually I drop the bunker down, and raise the land in front of them/inside of them.

As for the planting, I didn't want the game to have any lag w/more on the screen.
Last night, I had a few extra minutes, so I started filling in a few bunkers w/plants, dead tree trunks, waste bunker stuff, and looks pretty good.
My first 2 courses had waste bunkers with this kind of scruff in them; they looked pretty good, IMO.
This time, I'm trying to stick w/more global plants & boreal plants, and less grasses. It's amazing what you can create by combining 4 or 5 or more plants of different types close to each other.  Just a few different shades of green close to each other can make a big difference and make it look lifelike. Trying to do less with grasses, as I'm skeptical of how the game reacts to them, lag-wise. Making so pretty cool waste-like things w/out grasses, so far so good.

You're right though, global plants & theme plants/grasses do hardly anything to the meter. It's trees and buildings that make it go up most.
I'm at 55%, not worried at all. I just want it to play smoothly, and the more on the screen, the more the ps4 has to process.... So I'm adding items to my bunkers but not going crazy to keep it smooth.

Pinehust and Pine Valley are in my top 5 courses of all time, albeit I've never had the luck of playing the latter IRL yet! May never get that chance lol. Anyway, enjoyed my round, shot -15. Gave it a 7.

Nice looking course with all the flowers surrounding the greens. Speaking of greens, there were very receptive and not tricked up.

I shot a -5 which is a good score for me. Most of all, this was a fun course to play.  :)
