Hi All,

I have some basic questions about online play ...

* Can I play against someone who is on another platform, if I am on Xbox One?
* What will each of us see as we play against each other, each from our own location ... will I see just their ball, or their full size player?
* Is it limited to two different locations playing against each other or could 4 players play from 4 locations?
* How about 4 players from 3 locations?
* What platforms does 'The Golf Club' allow online play on?
* Is there a guide for getting started with online play, like a 'how to', with it all explained in one place?

Many Thanks!
Gary

It's okay man,   I'm a little jaded when it comes to online play because I'm not a fan Hb's offerings in a general sense...  I think Ghost balls are a brilliant way to play,   and I also think the same winds in tourneys is amazing,   but the most basic features like real time matchmaking and live play should of been added as soon as they game starting getting popular.   All I can do is say my prayers at night that this new company that is involved with HB in getting TGC2 off the ground doesn't let them make the same mistake twice..

Assuming you are both on the same platform and on each other's friends lists, this is how it works:

You can enable the "Turn Based" option or not.

If enabled, you watch as the other person plays, and vice versa.  Just like real golf.  You watch their avatar hit shots and they see yours.  The only downside is that the rounds tend to take much, much more time.

If not enabled, you both play simultaneously, and you see each other's ghost ball.  The downside  here is that if you both don't play at the same pace, one player can get a hole or several holes ahead of the other.

As far as game modes go, there have been some issues with match play, so for the group I play with (on PS4), we usually just set to stroke play and manually keep the match play score.  Especially if it's a four ball match.

Either way, using your platform's voice chat is the way to go.  There isn't a proper lobby, but if you have a few guys you can play with online, it is a more than enjoyable experience.

Hope this helps...

One thing though if your playing turn based live with another player.  There is a delay between what your seeing and what really happening.   If you turn player animation to none you don't see as big of a delay but you only see the ball fly off the club and it eliminates the back swing all together which looks weird.
