TGC2 - Confirmed Features

As Anthony has previously stated, "near the end of October" we are merely days or at worst case a few weeks away from the onslaught of TGC2 news and updates like we had at the beginning of TGC1.

So I am trying to gather a list of all the confirmed and speculated things we already know about TGC2.
I will break it down into 3 different categories for the confirmed section. General, Gameplay and the Designer.

Confirmed Categories
General: (this section includes items that either do not fit into the other two, or fit in both of the other two)
  • Engine upgrade from Unity 4 to Unity 5
  • Character Customization (the whole 9 yards)
  • New customization clothes (color wheel for 3 preset options: primary, secondary, and something else)
  • Societies
  • Upgraded UI (User Interface)
  • Upgraded overall graphics
  • Multiple Pins and Tees (belongs to both gameplay and designer)
Gameplay:
  • 3 new tempo based swing options: Tour (hard), Pro (medium), Rookie (easiest) (names may be incorrect)
  • Short game has been reworked including chipping, flopping, pitching
  • New practice areas: driving range and putting green (for both putting and chipping)
  • Updated golfer animations
  • Updated club selection (what goes in your bag) with added clubs to choose from
  • Uphill/Downhill lies
  • Bunker Plugging massively reduced
  • % removed from post shot information
  • Practice swing  - giving percentage and swing info

Designer:
  • Waterfalls
  • Water at any level via water brush
  • New items such as fencing, walls, bridges
  • expandable brushes
  • cart path tool now works with all textures

The below items are speculated with some "winks" here and there and need confirming:
  • Able to tilt certain objects in the designer such as walls and fences
  • updated textures and their interactions with other textures (blending)
  • Custom flags for home course of societies
  • Custom logos for clothes
  • Urban buildings and or theme / backgrounds


And a Wishlist of the unknowns:
  • Multiplayer lobby :( (sadface)
  • proper and active anti-cheat system in place
  • draw-a-shape for the designers textures :( (sadface)

a few things in gameplay

1. changes in the shot shaper  in regards of lofting/delofting capabilities

2. changers in info or removal of various numbers to reduce the math element   

3. sidehill and elevations have more effect on the outcome of shot distance/trajectory

4. wind has less or no effect on sheltered tree lined holes

Good idea Taste... under "General" you can add:

Multiple camera presentation options including a 'reverse landing/snap' view.

And some more to improve the best:
  • Cupedge, ballflight's and ballslie physics
  • use mouse/keyboard as mouse and keyboard, not emulating a console.....
  • full set of golf rules; water-hazard, out of bounds, unplayable ball.
  • ...
We'll see how the leader can improve  ;)

few things i allready posted would be important to me :

- uphill and downhill ballposition = confirmed
- option to hide distance sign to see complete hole = asked for,no info
- ingame chat or something similar = wishfull thinking
- stance and grip change instead of shotshaper ( more inaccurate should it be too ) = wonder might happen ;-)
- more spin especially on wedges and irons from clubhead without shaping the shot = wishfull thinking
- chance to change allready released courses without the need to release it again as a new course ( loosing the plays is a no go imo ) = wishfull thinking
- online list for players ( who´s online and where´s he/she playing ) = needed ;-)
- option to hide courses i dont like/play in my course searchlist
- better camera-angles , maybe free steerable camera = think its been confirmed,not sure
- puttingmode where the move that i make with the inputdevice gives the power of my putt and not the yellow marker
- overworked chip / ptch / punch and flop = think i remember its been worked on
- more detailed course/holemap ,that shows elevations and more infos about green  ( especially for no aids game ) = asked for, and been noticed by HB in a thread

reducing ratio in trees to make them smaller than default size   .... not sure if this will apply to objects as well

Couple of things HB_Paul said in another thread Taste :-

For Royce's list, heres a few notes

4) We aren't adding more brushes but you'll be able to scale the brushes in multiple directions, so grab the square and you can turn it into whatever rectangle you'd like.  I hope that works for you.

5) I finished using the path tool to work with any surface yesterday.  It needs some UI love once we're done with the reskin of the creator but it will be there.

The list of gameplay/designer items I've done are "speculative" as of now  ... these are nuggets of info I've picked up from posts by Anthony/Paul over the last few months

They are either going to be in the game or are being looked at .... although I'm not going to trawl all the way back through their posts.

Maybe a dev will come by this thread and confirm one or two things for us    :)

Just confirmed by AK.  Shot percentage feedback will be removed from actual shots.  It will only be available in practice shots.

TGC2 feature enhancement request named "TGC2 offline mode reminder adjustment request for GNCD" has been confirmed for TGC2.
Quote from HB_Keith in that thread confirmed that bar has been adjusted or removed in TGC2. I'm thinking removing the bar will remove the flashing offline reminder that the change requested refered to. :)
HB_Keith confirmed  "Done" and "A nice clear view for as far as the eye can see"
