Have a look at this JC

That's a start... thanks!  I'm surprised that Microsoft only has a store in Durham, NC, and not one in Charlotte!?  The UNCC meetup event schedule may eventually line up with my work schedule, but it depends on the theme of that day's meetup event whether I'd want to go or not.  I'm really only curious in gaming applications at this point.

Does anyone's Best Buy sell, let alone demonstrate the HTC Vive?

JC, C'mon out to Durham, we could meet up.  Grab a bite at Southpoint Mall and check out the Vive.  I didn't even realize there was a Vive demo at the MS Store in Durham.  Thanks for posting that .

I'm usually up there for at least one football weekend a year to see my Dukies play.  I haven't picked a game yet this year because I'm trying to pick one in which we might be competitive.  I thought we'd whip Wake Forest and Virginia at home, but I was working those two weekends... thankfully.  We usually make a it a full game day experience on the campus and stadium when we come though.  I've got some cyphering to do now that I'm finally off again.

Have you been to this Microsoft store?  I've never been in one myself and I just wonder how comprehensive they are.  I'd hate to go out of my way to go to one, only to find out that they really didn't have an HTC Vive demonstration unit.  I've never been to the Southpoint Mall either; how far is that from the Duke campus?

I have to go down by the mall probably tomorrow.  I will stop by the MS store to make sure they have a demo unit set up.  I have been in the store before, it's nice.  Kind of an Apple store feel to it.

From the Duke campus, it is about 10 min south.   It is right off I-40 at exit 274.  The Streets at Southpoint

Okay, that's why I haven't seen it... I'm always coming in from I-85 from the west, and taking 108 south towards the campus.  Lemme know what you find that tomorrow... I'm interested to read about this.  Oh, and I've never been in Apple store either  :-[  I've lived a sheltered life  :D

If you are located near Northampton, Massachusetts, or plan to swing by, Northampton Community Television is offering free public virtual reality demos using the HTC Vive and Gear VR headsets.

Here's a list of GameStop stores with demos:
