After finishing the two doral courses it is time to change the type of course, so decided to do royal links which is actually a real course. Quite nice because it has 18 holes that are on british open courses rebuilt, but then in Nevada :)
So it is a rendition of a rendition basically, but like the layout even I am not the biggest fan of links courses, but this one is a cool compilation.
Let's see how long it takes to recreate it, holes are all traced and number 1 and 2 are already finished.

Reminds me a bit of a neat little links-style country club course I play in Ann Arbor called Polo Fields with those fw moguls & view from the tee in the last pic.  I like the concept of American links courses, unfortunately there's not many in my area, but I've considered them as good potential RCR's (Polo Fields & The Gailes).

This looks like a great start.  Keep shorter tees in mind for the simulator folks please!  :)

hole 5 is actually finished. I actually like the layout more the more holes I am building. There are going to be 2 sets of tees at least. One is the royal back tee which is about 7000 yds. long. Then the gold tee which is 6600 yds.
The ruby tee is under 6000 and might be a little bit too short. But maybe it is a good idea to build a gold ruby combo about 6300 yds long where the longer par 4's get the ruby tee and the short par 4's stay on the gold one.

You're relatively new around here, but you have a great eye for design and I'm seeing some great stuff.  Nice work man...looking forward to this one.

had to take a little break due to some personal issues the last days, but finished hole 6 today, going to post some more pics maybe tomorrow and hope to get the whole course done soon,

gtz Michael

(sorry picture is in quite hard light conditions, but it is easier to work on the course in bright conditions, final version will be more like the other pictures)
