The flop shot is just so unrealistic I don't even like to use it, and when I do I go with a partial% swing most of the time, lofting it just causes way to much backspin in my opinion. I know this hurts my overall scoring since the upper level guys flop with reckless abandon, they'd rather remove the uncertainty of green break and just fly right to the hole.
The LW Pitch fully lofted (21 yards) also seems to have too much backspin IMO, or maybe I just don't know how to hit one in real life, but I can never make a pitch shot behave anything like that when I play. There's just not nearly enough "bump & run" type action on shots, that's why I chip exclusively with the 9 iron, at least it has some decent run out up to 13 yards. Tiger's shot at 16 would never happen in the TGCTours Masters, it would be a flop fest from back left of that green.
When I see guys (i.e. extremeKilla, whoever/whatever that is) on XB at top of leadboards posting -18's and you play with their ghosts you see rampant flops & chips on greens, just because they can spin control it so dramatically. Right there that tells me there's something wrong with the physics, #play4flop #play4chips just completely unrealistic, rather be rewarded with a long putt.
