Hey guys and gals, it's time to kick off the golf season with the long awaited arrival of my course Carl's Bait Shop.  Starting today and running for two weeks, I am hosting a four round tournament on on all 3 platforms (Steam, XBox and PS4) using the Spring '73 version of the course.  The event is open to any and all who wish to play.  It is called the "Carl's Bait Shop Open 2017" and can be found listed under the 'Tours' section on The Golf Club.

I will be giving away over $500 of Steam games to the participants of this tournament
.  The prizes include:

The top FIVE finishers will receive their choice of one of the following Steam games...

7 Days to Die
Depth
Civilization V
Payday 2
Tropico 5

The first 10 golfers to score a hole in one (any hole) will receive a copy of...

Breach and Clear
or
The 39 Steps

Last but not least, one copy each of the following Steam games will be given away to random participants who complete the entire tournament but do not win one of the other prizes...

Firewatch
Battlefield: Bad Company 2
L.A. Noire
Dead Rising 2
Cities Skyline
Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition
Left 4 Dead: GOTY Edition
Transistor
Spec Ops: The Line
Shadow Warrior 2

Again, the tournament will run through midnight EST on Friday April 28th.  All prizes will be awarded shortly thereafter.  Even if you are not a terrific golfer, you still have a decent chance at winning a great prize just for playing!

Although the tournament was initially setup on Steam only and the prizes are all steam games, most of which are geared towards people who already have a powerful PC, I have decided to change the tournament to include all platforms!  I have also added several more prizes to the pool to reflect the additional players. ;)

Very generous  prize offering in this tourney. I played the 1st round, I'm not use to playing with no grids or no wind showing, but managed a -1. I like not seeing the grids for realism, but still think a button to turn them on and off would be better for me than never seeing them. :)

I have to get back to round one. I was going along fine then had a couple 87% shots and dunked a ball. Rage quit

Seriously, you couldn't pick a better course to get used to playing without the grids.   ;D

Ahhh...been there.  Lots of time left.  Besides, Thrangar posted a pretty good score already.

ok done!  ;D

Wow.  Impressive play, very consistent.  We have a leader in the clubhouse, gentlemen.

I'll play, but you can remove me from the game winners list. Noticed you had already sent me breach and clear for no apparent reason. Ty for that. Fun little game. Tried it last weekend

You're welcome mate, it is a fun game indeed.  How about this, we'll take you off the list for the HIO or random prizes but you can still play for the top 3.  I know you have the game to finish high here.

Oh boy.  I thought you had to create a separate tourney for each.  Do the consoles get the same wind conditions as the PC or with each other?  Maybe we can just run the one tournament across all platforms.   I've got a busy day planned, but I'll work something out and post my intentions by tomorrow morning.

Okay guys, I have edited the thread to reflect all platforms being included in this grand opening tournament.  I will now payout the top FIVE finishers of the tournament and have also added more prizes to both the HIO and random drawing pools.

A few other things that I want to make clear.  Although Carl, myself and a few other friends of mine will be playing the tournament we will not be eligible for prizes.  I am also hoping that someone who has an established online presence through Twitch or something similar might be willing to host the live drawing for prizes at the conclusion of the tourney.  I am also going to need somebody with an XBox who can relay names and scores to me as I don't own that console.

Although we are still waiting to see our first ace, I would like to give a shout out to Paul Parker (Steam) who had an albatross on the long par five 14th hole in his first round.  Congrats Paul, that was a great shot mate!
