HBS have confirmed that the XBox One version will be displayed at 1080p, but I'd like to get learn a bit more about its frame rate performance.  I know the question was posed to the guys playing the game during the official live stream last week about what the target frame rates were on the consoles.  Shaun West responded "we should see 30 FPS on the consoles", and Brett reaffirmed it with an "absolutely".  It may be that Shaun was just being conservative, but that almost sounds like it will have trouble maintaining 30 FPS, which is a frame rate that's nothing to boast about in this day and age.

My experience with TGC over the three platforms has shown me that when the frame rate is >45 FPS (as I can see when playing the PC version), it's a more fluid and dynamic experience.  When I load my PC down with graphics settings that take it down to 30 FPS, my short game, particularly putting, takes a hit because of the reduced feedback.  There are courses and spots on courses where the XBox One version hits what feels like the PC version does when it's >45 FPS and it's fine.  However, there are even more courses and spots where it struggles to hit in the mid 20's, and it feels like a different game.

I'm in the TGC 2 beta and I can say that on the PC, I'm seeing significantly higher frame rates with it versus what I saw at comparable graphics detail settings in TGC 1.  Is it not the case that the same performance gains that Unity 5.3 afforded on the PC version translate into increased performance on the console versions?

If we don't enable Vsync in the XBox One version of TGC 2, what sort of frame rate performance should we expect to see, on average, on official courses?

What suprised me is that it is 1080p and they did not even advertise it. So if it was not asked we would not know about it. So my guess is they are not going to  tell us exact fps. I really want to know how tgc2 will run on the Xbox s and ultimately the Scorpio.

Is there a way to check fps on a Xbox? If there is I could check tgc1 on the S. Well if it's easy to do that is.

It's likely to depend on which course you're playing on.

AND perhaps if you're on the Xbox one or Xbox one s

Naturally, all of that will have a bearing on the frame rate, but what I'm trying to gauge is whether the overall, average frame rate with the XBox One version of TGC 2 will be higher than that of TGC 1.

The game engine will drive a lot of this.  The engine they're using is muuuuccch better than what was used on TGC1

I think we won't hear anything like this until after E3 and all.

Who knows what more changes and updates will come but definitely ...changes are coming that hopefully will improve the system and impact all games positively in terms of performance
