'Set Standard' or 'Set a Standard' have a different meaning.

In this discussion the context is the one who is setting a standard vs the one who is developing to a set standard are different parties and one doesn't have a choice if the other chooses.

That's what I disagree on is that Xbox should set a standard for all developers.  I do agree that each developer should have set standards for how they may choose to offer the product amongst the different console versions.

Oh well doesn't seem to matter as the PS4 pre-order suggests they don't have a PS4 Pro version so.....it may not even hit 1080p on Xbox one so I may have to pass on TGC2 if there isn't a Scorpio version

I'm out on TGC2 after learning about the lack of Pro support.........It's a PC game pure & simple.

Wait and see how it plays on either console before making any decisions.....you might be surprised.

I chased a decent version of TGC making purchases on all three platforms, not going to make the same mistake with TGC2.
No commitment to console versions from HB,need to build an expensive PC rig to get decent resolution & frame rate.

Pretty much a lot of others have similar experiences.

Why buy again especially if the same courses exist....it's like buying Madden each year.  Kinda pointless for some

They aren't turning off TGC courses so they same courses will exist.

Not TGC2 courses but what good is it to own a PS4 pro or Xbox Scorpio and buy games that don't use the better hardware

Not exactly.

Many of the TGC1 courses will likely look and play differently and I think with the new swing mechanic, we will see more new TGC2 courses by far over the TGC1 re-makes sooner than later.

For sure if you buy TGC2 but if the game isn't going to look any better than it does on Xbox one the features don't matter too much cause the resolution and Frame rates were the bigger issues.

New swing and societies, customization and course creator updates don't mean anything without a good quality look and performance for those spending $499 or more for new hardware.

C'mon guys, can we see the game perform on each console before we have these long, drawn out doom and gloom posts?

What's to see?
If it's not supported on PS4 Pro there's nothing to see for those of us who are looking for 2160p gaming on consoles

If it's not supported for PS4 pro it's likely not supported for the future Xbox Scorpio

Anyone not looking for 2160p or enhancements above the base PS4/slim or Xbox one s can look at performance but on Xbox one we still have what 720p and maybe 20fps on TGC 1 maybe they bumped to 900p but never reached 30 FPS
