The Casuals Golf Club on TGC2 | All You Need to Know

 Overview

Founded at the beginning of February 2015, we still run a TGC2 Society with approaching 2,000 members. And we're off to a flying start in 2019, with over 1,250 members in just over two months! The CGC host two TGC 2019 skill based tournament divisions - with multiple dramatic promotions and demotions in every single event! CGE (Casuals Golf Elite) - Top 100 Ranked. And UCG (Ultra Casuals Golf) members - 101 and below ranked. We endeavour to provide a leisurely, sporting and non time constrictive golfing agenda for both the skilled golfer; and the more casual players - all aids on/generally 'friendly' courses/7000 yds tees. This while warmly embracing the lesser skilled and the ever increasing band of TGC novices. We pride ourself on our event course selections - and visit the most beautiful venues in the game. We've also developed collaborative partnerships with many talented designers, who create custom courses for the CGC.

Season Schedule & Purses

One Season = 12 Weeks - Four Majors per season - Including our  popular Super 6 World Series in week 6. And our season ending, defining, and very closely Fed Ex Cup modelled Super 12's Series in week 12.

We pay at least 95% - often 100% Purses. Bonus Prize Funds (BPF's) are also very generous. We paid out nearly 1,000,000 in BPF's in Season 5 - with a huge 100,000 for our Majors & Super 12's Series!

Weekly Format & LOW Fees

Mon-Weds - 2X Challenger Series (CGE & UCG)  - 36 Holes 2 Days - Premier Level Course

Weds-Fri - 2X Valiance Tour (CGE & UCG) - 36 Holes 2 Days - PLC

Fri-Mon - 2X The Big Week-Ender (CGE & UCG) - 54 Holes 3 Days - PLC

Current Club Membership Fee 75. Tournament Entry Fee 200. Big Week-Ender Entry Fee 250. Major Entry Fee 300. Our fees are amongst the lowest out there; and for good reason. Because we want new TGC owners whose coin count will be low, to be able to afford to enter our events.

Great option for those of us who have no time to complete 4 rounds in 1 day. I played the last event and had a good time. Sadly I played the actual one yesterday and posted a -3 , nonetheless today I don't appear on the leaderboard and the game showed I had to "Begin Round 1" again, so I did and the tee shot was bugged with the ball being replaced by a flag xD ... So I shot and the ball magically fell into the water. After I dropped I saw my scorecard and each hole had the score of my previously completed -3 round.... and there I was playing hole 1 again. So yes, I guess I'll have to wait until next event or see if something happens when it ends.

I've had similar problems with my scores not posting. I played in the Faxon yesterday and originally shot -2. It did not post and just said 'begin round 1'.
I just left and came back to it later to see if maybe it was just a server delay. I came on 4 hours later and it still was not showing, so I figured I'll try again. I get a few lucky putts the last couple holes and end up -4 this time. Still nothing is posted and it says 'begin round 1'. So I figure I give up and just play some career rounds and then check back before signing off and my first score of -2 is posted, and that's fine because that's what I actually shot first. I look this morning on a club thread and see I have two spots on the leaderboard at -4 and -2 now. Not my intention to have two tries so in the future to be safe I will not play a second time if my score doesn't post.
I have also noticed some other players have multiple scores posted in other society tournaments so this seems to be an ongoing issue. I hope this will be fixed as it's disturbing not have your scores post and have to wonder if they will or not.

Overall though, this is a great club and great format.

Cheers for your feedback fellas, and glad you're enjoying the club. One of our goals is to ensure that we don't have a schedule that is bloated or overbearing. We want members to have plenty of time to complete events - in a laid back, course appreciative and leisurely manner. Hence our fairly light weekly schedule.

Sorry about the technical issues you've experienced, I am aware of it. Unfortunately they are out my hands, I'm sure HBS will rectify in due course. Thanks again for joining The Casuals.

Do you have any plans to edit the handicap limit?
I have somehow managed to get my handicap to +4.9 and this is excluding me from being able to join what looks to be exactly what I am looking for in a society

CGC Faxon Vase T3 - Final Leaderboard

Well I thought we'd never beat the 62 field for our last event - but we have, just! A field of 63 casuals members partook (not all completed) in this final taster, before our first 'T90 Big Week-Ender' commencing tomorrow. More on that very soon! CGC Week-Ender Main Event - T90 Ocean Cay Showdown

Anyway despite the tournament setup issue, CGC's taster week has gone remarkably well. Already society level 5, lovely new members lounge - fantastic fields, rapid membership uptake and we've only been established six days! Many thanks to you all.

So here we go (a day early lol) - time for the Casuals Tour to commence for real, with a brand new season starting right here. And we have a delightful venue to host our first official CGC event. This as we journey to the beautifully lit, water laden charmer Ocean Cay course - for our first week-ender 'T90 Showdown' event. As promised there'll be a hefty 90% purse for this one, and for the first time a +6 handicap ceiling. That'll be dropping to +5 Sat 15 July - so this one really is for the casuals! Not sure mate. I've had quite a few issues with the tourney setup procedure, particularly with dates!? For example our next tournament starts Monday, but on the club lounge page it says 5 days away. But back to your q, I would guess it will finish in 24 hours - but I honestly am not sure. When I know, I'll let you know.

Tourney Course Selection

I'll be honest chaps, apart from Atlantic which is special, I haven't been overly happy with my course selection so far. Mainly due to the issues importing legacy courses, allied to relatively few bespoke TGC2 courses being available at launch. But that's about to change, because after some hungry foraging - some brand new marvels of design are appearing. And I'm starting to gather a nice portfolio of high class (non too intimidating) courses for the CGC. Starting with the wonderful Devon Quarry CC - which will host our weekly 'Challenger' event commencing Monday 10 July. Course quality, beauty and relative ease of play, are significant factors in venue selection - so I look forward to adding some of the very best to the Casuals itinery!

Ps - Might leave leaderboard graphic till tournament completion tomorrow. Because although we have about fifty in the field to date, many haven't completed round two yet. I'll see how it goes.

CGC T90 Ocean Cay Showdown - Final Leaderboard

An excellent field of 62 entered our 'week-ender' event, with apparently 40 completing. Just hoping the dreaded server issues haven't swallowed up some of our members efforts again!! Nevertheless a top turnout after those early technical issues, cheers. I blew my hopes with a tepid opening round of 78, but hit back well with a -2 70 in my second round. An impressive MrSauga took the top prize with a dominant -20 usurping long time leader Williamhotel. But the Casuals isn't just about the winners. So a special respectful mention goes to stewsarmy, Jasper, Mephisto, Simmmy and others - who despite hitting very high first round scores, battled on to complete the event. Well played all!

Firstly huge thanks guys, we now have 93 members in a little over a week. Awesome! Ok, here we go again chaps - and I'm delighted to report that some prodigious course designs are already surfacing for TGC2. And I'm quickly gathering a lavish portfolio of high class courses for the CGC to visit. Starting with the beautiful Devon Quarry CC which plays host to our first weekly 'Summer Challenger' series. 36 again here, off the shortest tees, with a very leisurely 2+ days to complete?? - and it's live right now.
