Had my account approved today. I bought the game on two days ago and am loving it so far.

I am really interested in designing (or should I say replicating) courses. I have followed the PGA Tour in great depth for the last four years and I would love to play all of these courses. I have recently been tracking the Euro Tour as well and to teach myself about these courses I want to replicate them to the best of my ability.

Currently I am seven holes into Glendower Golf Course in South Africa (South African Open). I have never seen this course before, but using Google Earth, Youtube clips, photos and course maps I think I'm doing okay for my first attempt.  I have gotten out of whack in terms of replicating exactly how a course is laid out. Example is on hole 7, I had to push up the tee box 200 yards to make the green in the right location (I felt that was more important).

My question for the designers who replicate. What is the best practices you have for creating real courses. Elevations is one thing I'm finding tricky.

Any how, must get my kids fed. But figured I'd throw a quick intro out.

I will try and post pictures later if anyone is interested.

Cheers
Gibb

Hi Gibb and welcome to the forum, you've come to the right place for advice, although I myself have never attempted RCR's the guys who do are generally realy helpful and usually go out of their way to offer help.
The only advice I would give is try to be as accurate as you can and take your time they normally take months, welcome, Nigel
