In the last week iv'e had two copyright content id claims against two of my videos..

heres a little snippet from the emails iv' had..

This is just a heads up
Don't worry. You're not in trouble and your account standing is not affected by this.

There are either ads running on your video, with the revenue going to the copyright owner, or the copyright owner is receiving stats about your video's views.

Now it dosn't realy bother me as i have never actualy monetised any of my videos "ever" But i won't let some ****ty company put a copyright claim against me either so i deleted the first video i got it on, and i'l leave this one for a week or so' to let you guys hear and see what they are claiming against before i delete this one aswel.This is just a heads up that some company is pulling copyright id claims against background noises in the game..

I received similar "infringements" with JNPG videos I posted on YouTube.  I disputed all the alleged copyright infringement of all of the videos and I think eventually the claims were withdrawn.  I can't recall exactly, as it was a while ago and I haven't posted any new videos in quite a while.

The silence is deafening from HB they must know who owns the copyright of the sounds or for that matter of everything to do with the game, it's pretty petty minded from companies anyway contacting a small video producer, as you said you don't charge money for your videos so just add a few lines of text similar to this.

"Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. and see what happens.

This is why companies get bad names chasing the little guy, it's the same with the music industry if I buy a record I should be able to do with it as I please within reason, but oh! No you can't copy it there you can't take it there, and yet they change the technology every five minutes making you buy multiple versions of the same damn thing and that's ok. Keep up the good work Jim.

Im pretty sure HB is a professional company and have licensed all third party content in the game. But I guess Youtube isnt yet smart enough to figure out exactly what a random video is depicting and what licensing that content has.

That's really weird to have a Content ID match for just bird sounds haha. Those particular asian birds are from a sound library that is used all over TV/Games/Music so it's possible someone under Sony Music Entertainment made an album that has those sounds. Content ID checks are all completely automated so no one's 'going after' anyone. I wouldn't worry much about it unless it prevents you from posting vids. If it does, good luck talking to Sony haha
