I'm done with the layout, the infrastructure, and 3 holes.  Hoping to finish it in time for TGC 2019 launch. 

This is the 1916-1926 version of the course.

The beauty of this hole was that the water appears to hug the back of the green from the perspective of the player, even though there is some room to miss long.

The 4th is drafted.  This hole was an invention by CB Macdonald and featured an alternate route that could be used to get to the par 5 in 2.  the shortcut required a daring carry over water, sand, and wild grass.  But the reward was a much shorter route and a better angle.  In the late teens through the thirties, this was one of the most famous holes in the US.

Will this hole work with the TGC2 distances and mechanics?

Not as intended.  It's a straight up par at 440ish down the right fairway and hitting this fairway is almost a gimmie in tgc2. There is another 20 to 30 yards for possible extra length, but it is a little awkward.  With hickories, wind, and a climbing shot to the green, it was a monumental thing to reach this in 2 in the day. 

When I'm done, I'm going to make a version with all tees stretched to the limits and 2 of the par 5s called par 4s.  If the course would have survived, that is what would have likely happened.  Due to the channel, some holes can't be lenthened. 

When this was built, it was considered a he-man's course and brutally difficult.  I'm really aiming to play it on a sim with hickories on tgc2019.

 Was guessing so.  You are doing the right thing making it as close to what is was as possible, but the stretched one will be very interesting as well.

It's still under construction, but I published NLE test 06 last I believe. 

Holes 11-17 need another 100 hours realistically.  The rest are substantially done, except that they'll be tweaked once I do final playtesting. 

However, the course is too short for modern play.  If you test it, go with 5 wood as your longest club.  I'll add back tees later.
