Congrats on the partnership with 2k. A huge company which will hopefully push this franchise to greater heights in the future

That being said, who will be in charge of pushing updates out for TGC 2019? With TGC2 a lot of us spent our hard earned money on a partially finished product due to the fact we were told that Maximum Games didn't push patches/updates out that were needed.

Who has the power going forward with TGC 2019 when these are due out for release?

With 2k on board we can probably now expect less updates and more yearly releases.  And even less involvement with the community that has supported them so well over the last two releases.

I’m all for 2K. They have dominated the basketball market the last 10 years. Hopefully we can expect the realism and excellent gameplay that you get in NBA 2k. Also maybe a different swing animation or multiple preferably one that doesn’t look like he’s swinging at 10%

Maybe I missed something. What was the really big news that they were working on that we couldn't know but when we did we would understand?  2K?   If that is it, where is the post stating why this was really big news and how it benefits the game and community?  (Other than financial and name support, which to me is only big news if HB was struggling financially). I think most of us were thinking PGA player names or something exciting added to the game late that would wow us.

Shaun has said he will try to post something later today with more on the partnership with 2K.

Partnering with the 3rd biggest publisher in gaming is about as good as it gets especially for a company like HB. So that is classed as big news even if a few had already figured this out.

Thanks Keith.

Yes, with TGC 1 we had about 15 patches/updates to the game as to where TGC2 had I think only 4. Hoping the game keeps getting continuous updates to make it the best experience possible.

I don’t care about involvement with the community if they release a solid golf game.

Agree.  BUT... that really only matters to HBS.  At least for today.  Priming the pump for some big announcement that has no real impact on the people paying for the game is a little bit of a let down.  I'm happy for HBS but I DO think they oversold this "big announcement" a bit don't you?

Until we understand how it impacts us then it's basically inconsequential to the player base.  I don't mean to be offensive or rude towards HBS but I really don't care how they market/publish the game just like they don't really care how I make the money I make that allows me to buy their game.

I kind of agree.  I think the "announcement" hype seemed to indicate that it would affect the game in some way.  The sentiment that "you will understand it when you play it" message.  Teaming with a huge publisher is great for HB and may be great for future versions of the game (more licensed courses, players, etc) but I really don't understand how it affects this years game at all.  Unless that stuff is coming via patch later.

And now they've removed the announcement!!  What a nightmare for these guys!

A separate tournament site for JNPG was doing this for a while when I was active with that game.  It was really pretty cool!  It only works though if the scoring is realistic unless you have a decent handicap system in place to even things out.

EA had live tournaments with a link to Tour scores which was ok,as you say if scoring is realistic.H2KB may come up with a great game mode in this direction.
