A separate tournament site for JNPG was doing this for a while when I was active with that game. It was really pretty cool! It only works though if the scoring is realistic unless you have a decent handicap system in place to even things out.
EA had live tournaments with a link to Tour scores which was ok,as you say if scoring is realistic.H2KB may come up with a great game mode in this direction.
We better back WAY up and start with the basics first though. Let's let them focus on getting an announcement out (one that sticks) first, then we can focus on actually releasing the game, and THEN we can focus on the real things like gameplay!
